Part Fifty-Four

I opened my eyes, letting the bright light from the window come in contact with my eyes.

"Joe?" I groaned.

I shook Joe gently to see if he was awake.

"Joe." I coughed.

"Yeah?" He asked.

"Are you awake?" I asked.

"No." He sighed.

"Fine." I sighed, getting out of the bed slowly.

I walked out of the room and saw the door to Caspar's room open. I peeked in and saw Rose on the computer.

"I know Alfie, but you almost died! And what would happen if they found out that it was my fault!"

A small gasp came from my lips. Rose almost killed Alfie?

"Don't say that. I know it is." Rose sighed.

"Uh, Rose?" I asked.

"Oh, shit, Chloe! Hi!" Rose laughed. "You're up early."

"I'm hungry." I narrowed my eyes at her.

"Oh. Go eat." Rose nervously scratched her neck.

I looked behind her to see that she was on YouNow, but it was muted.

"What are you and Alfie talking about?"

"Alfie, she can't hear you." Rose muttered quietly for speaking to me. "Nothing! It was nothing!"

"But I heard you saying that you almost killed him."

"Alfie, I can't put you on speaker."

"How are you talking to him when your phone's right there?" I asked, noticing her phone sitting on the table.

"Bluetooth?" Rose said.

"You aren't wearing an ear piece." I told her.

"Yes I am."

"Your hair's in a ponytail, I can tell if you have an earpiece or not."

"Fine, Alfie. I'll tell her. But if I get executed from this job, I'm coming back to haunt you." Rose snapped.

"Tell me what?"

"No, you tell her!" Rose yelled, completely ignoring me.

"Rose, are you talking to yourself?" I asked.

"No." Rose said softly before handing me her wrist watch.

"What-"

"Put it on." She told me.

I put the wrist watch on slowly and started to hear Alfie's voice.

"Alfie?" I asked.

"Hi, Chlo." He laughed.

"How is this possible? It's-"

"Don't worry."

"What's he saying?" Rose asked.

"You can't hear?"

"Only the person wearing it can hear." Alfie told me.

"I'm confused."

"When aren't you?" Rose sighed.

"Alfie?" I asked.

"Yeah?" He asked.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"Yeah, I'm just hanging out about to record Sims 4 with Zoe." Alfie told me.

"Oh." I smiled.

"I have to tell you something." Alfie said.

"What?"

"Rose is a secret agent and I went on two missions with her where I almost died twice and I'm thinking about joining their agency." Alfie said in one breath.
