Part Twenty-Six

"What the flip!" I yelled, looking at Drianne. "Is this true?"

Joe slumped in his chair and nodded.

"Well," I gulped. "You said it used to be in your stomach. What happened?"

Drianne sighed and looked down.

I hope she didn't get an-

"Abortion." Drianne said, her voice cracking.

I yelped a little bit before standing up and going to the bathroom to cry.

I walked into the bathroom and slammed the door shut, me locking it.

I sniffled and looked at myself in the mirror as I put my hands on the sink.

My nose was read and my eyes were watery and I saw a tear fall from my left eye, which tickled.

"Chloe?" Someone knocked on the door.

Joe.

"Come on, babe. Open up."

I cried more and ignored him.

"Babe, please?" Joe said.

I hurriedly wiped my eyes and sniffled. "Come in." I muttered as I sat against the wall.

The door opened and Joe stepped in before he closed it.

"Hi." Joe smiled, wrapping his arms around me.

I nodded a 'hey' at him.

"Are you mad at me? Because I didn't even know about the baby. And I hadn't even remembered her until she mentioned it." Joe huffed, tubbing my back.

"I'm sorry." I sobbed, leaning on Joe's shoulder.

"For what?" Joe asked, wrapping an arm around my shoulders.

"Sorry that I'm acting like this. I should be happy. I mean, Melanie's out of jail, Connor's not trying to kill himself, he came out, Perfect Imperfections can work on songs now." I sniffled. "I just don't know why Drianne wouldn't keep the baby."

Joe sighed and pressed a kiss to my cheek.

"I don't know why either. I think I'm ready to be a dad." Joe smiled.

"Like you take care of Emma like a good dad should." I laughed, making Joe roll his eyes.

"There's that smile I love." Joe smirked.

"Shut up, doofus." I giggled.

"Are we ready to go back?" Joe asked.

"Sure." I nodded.

We walked out and I apologised and sat down next to Torye, who grabbed my hand under the table for support.

"Are you alright?" Connor asked.

I nodded and wiped my eyes for the last time.

"Let's eat." I hummed, making Troye giggle.
