"I'm going to kill Snotlout!" Astrid yelled and slammed the door behind her, making Hiccup jump.
"Okay calm down, what did he do this time," he said and pulled her over to sit on the couch beside him.
"He asked if I was pregnant! I mean who in their right mind asks a girl that?!" She exclaimed angrily. Hiccup had to do his best to stifle a chuckle.
"Astrid, you are pregnant," he said plainly. She opened her mouth to say something else but Hiccup continued before she had a chance to. "It was still a dumb question, but remember that it's Snotlout, he doesn't think. However, I think it might be time to tell everyone, or our little surprise will do it for us." She looked down at her stomach and frowned.
"I'm getting fat," she said and wiped away a tear. Hiccup wrapped his arms around her and kissed her head.
"You're not fat, you're pregnant. There is a tiny human being growing inside you, that needs you more than anyone else." She smiled a little and rested a hand on her stomach.
"I can't wait to feel it kick," she said softly. "I mean I know I'm pregnant but being able to feel the baby move will make it so much more real." As if the baby heard, it kicked right where Astrid's hand was. Her eyes widened and felt around to make sure she hadn't imagined it.
"What is it?" Hiccup asked when he saw her expression change.
"Hiccup, the baby just kicked," she said and stared at him in shock.
"Wait really?" he asked and put his hands on her stomach. After a few minutes he felt the smallest flutter against his hand. "That's amazing. It's like the baby heard you." Astrid smiled when Hiccup kissed her stomach.
"That just proves how smart our baby is already, just like their father," she replied.
"Either that or enjoys punching me like their mother," he replied mischievously, making Astrid roll her eyes. "You want dinner?" She nodded and Hiccup got to work.
"I'm going to go lay down." After about an hour, Hiccup brought up some stew for her.
"Feeling better?" She smiled and kissed him.
"Much better."
Wow I really need to post more😂 Anyways I hope you enjoyed this even though it's pretty short. A little update on my life, classes started back this week for me and they're more intense than I had last semester, so I'm really not sure how much time I'll have to write. Also, if you follow me on Instagram then you'll know that I'm obsessed with Frozen so I may eventually write something related to that but it won't mean that I'll stop writing httyd, because honestly I don't know if that will ever happen😀 And finally, I really want to prioritize reading as well as learning to cook this year which also means less writing time. This will affect Instagram more because I have a ton of one shots that I can post here for quite awhile. Anyway, I hope you have an amazing day and an amazing weekend💙
