I wrote this last Christmas but I'm not waiting until this Christmas to post it.  If you've been reading httyd fanfiction from before httyd3 came out than you'll probably have seen Freya and Stoick used as names for Hiccup and Astrid's kids.  I usually use my own original names, but I went with more common names for this one.

"Wake up!  It's Snoggletog!"  Four year old Freya shouted and jumped on her parents bed.  Hiccup groaned but sat up.
"Freya, you'll wake your brother,"  he said quietly.
"Sorry, Daddy,"  she said and lowered her head sadly.
"It's okay baby, how about you help me get him ready?"  She nodded happily and ran into his room.  Hiccup followed her and smiled as she stuck her little hand through the bars on his crib.
"Wake up, Stoick,"  she whispered to the sleeping two year old and pat his head.  "It's Snoggletog."  Hiccup went over and picked up Stoick who rubbed his eyes sleepily.
"You want to go see Mommy?"  Stoick smiled and clapped his little hands.  Hiccup laughed and took him to Astrid.  "You have a visitor." Astrid sat up slowly and looked to see her son reaching for her.
"Good morning, Stoick,"  she said as she pulled him onto her lap.  He smiled and rested against her stomach.  That had been one of his favorite things to do since she got pregnant.  He would lay there for long periods of time and listen to the baby.  Astrid smiled and rubbed his back while he listened.
"Do you love your baby, Stoick?"  Hiccup asked as he sat beside them and pulled Freya onto his lap.
"Baby,"  Stoick said and pat her stomach with his tiny hands.  Astrid smiled and then winced a little.  She looked up at Hiccup and nodded.  He looked at her with confusion but then he understood and his eyes widened.
"How would you like to go play with Gobber and Stormfly for a little while?"  He asked the kids.
"We want to stay with you!"  Freya said with determination.
"Well, if you go, you'll have an extra special present when you come back."  This caught her attention and she squealed with delight.
"Come on Stoick!"  Freya said and ran to get her little jacket.  Hiccup grabbed Stoick and helped Astrid stand up.
"I'll send Mom over.  Are you sure you'll be okay while I'm gone?"  He asked quietly.
"I'm fine, Hiccup.  It's just starting.  My water hasn't broken yet,"  Astrid replied quietly.  "I'm going to walk around and see if I can get things moving while you're gone."
"I'll be quick,"  he said and kissed her.  He took Freya and Stoick to Gobber and was back in twenty minutes.  Valka was already there as well as Astrid's mother.
"Hiccup, perfect timing,"  Ingrid said as she grabbed some towels.
"How is she?"  He asked anxiously.
"Oh she's fine, it'll still be a while."  Hiccup sighed and went upstairs to see his wife.   She was kneeling on a pillow on the floor and leaning against their bed.
"How's our little dragon rider?"  He asked as he sat beside her.
"Slow,"  she replied with a laugh.  "Just like their father."  Just then another contraction came.  She did her best to focus on her breathing, but it was obvious that she was in a lot of pain.  He rubbed her back gently until the contraction was over.
"Who's bright idea was it to have another baby anyway?"  Astrid asked grumpily as she stood up.
"If I remember correctly, it was yours milady,"  he replied and kissed her.
    "Next time, stop me."
"Oh so there's going to be a next time?"
"Oh shut up."  Suddenly she felt another contraction, but this time, her water broke.  Hiccup helped her get cleaned up while Ingrid and Valka got the bed ready.  The labor progressed rather quickly now and in a few hours, it was time to push.  Before long, the cry of a tiny baby girl filled the hut.  Astrid held her against her chest and soon she quieted down.
"She's beautiful, Astrid,"  Hiccup whispered and kissed her head.
"She looks like you,"  she replied and rested against him.  They stayed like that for a while before a light knock was heard on the door.  They looked up and saw Gobber peeking through the door.
"I think there are some young vikings who would like to see their Snoggletog present,"  he said cheerfully.  Hiccup nodded and watched as Freya jumped up and down when she saw the new baby.  Stoick toddled over and Hiccup picked him up so he could see.
"That's your little sister, bud."  Stoick watched her curiously before carefully reaching out to touch her.  The two children watched in awe as the small baby slept.
"What's her name, Mommy?"  Freya asked curiously.  Astrid looked at Hiccup who nodded for her to go ahead.
"Her name is Joy."  Soon it was time for Freya, Stoick, and Joy to go to sleep.  Hiccup made sure they were all warm and cozy before going to bed himself.  Astrid had already fallen asleep so he was extra careful as he climbed in beside her.  She immediately wrapped her arms around him, but she didn't wake up.
"Happy Snoggletog,"  he whispered, and drifted off to sleep.

I'm still really happy with how this one turned out.  I love writing hiccstrid family fluff as well as pregnancy stories and this ticks both.  I have started my college classes and so far I'm doing okay.  I still don't know how much time I'll have for writing, but I think I'll have more time than I thought.  Fingers crossed.
