Emma's P.O.V

11:04 A.M.

"Charlie if you don't want to compete in the ball pit belly flop competition, you don't have to." I told him as he stood at the top, debating his life choices. Pursing my lips and placing my hands on my hip, I continue to wait for him to come to a decision.

"Let's make a deal!" I whisper while waving him over to me. I hear him let out a sigh of relief as he meets me in the middle of the ball pit. After quietly whispering my deal in his ear, Charlie turned to look at me.

"We can't sneak out of here and down to the field." He exclaims loudly and I rush to cover his mouth.

"But don't you want to go visit your dad? Then we can both be with our dads and watch batting practice from super close up!" I argue back. He looks back and forth between the ball pit and his mom multiple times before nodding.

Let's go. 1 for Emma Bryant... 0 for the adults

"So all I have to do is belly flop then you will take us to the field?" He questions as he stands back on the ledge and prepares to belly flop.

Nodding back I give him a big smile and thumbs up. "'Yeah well maybe not to the field but I'll get us somewhere close to hopefully." I murmur to myself while trying to remember anything about the trip up to this playroom.

In my peripheral vision I see Charlie fly through the air and both of us bust out laughing as he surfaces from the balls. Brushing the hair out of my eyes, I place the strands behind my ear and get ready to go into ninja mode.

Thanks Uncle Riz for watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with me

Motioning for Charlie to follow me, we both head towards the door. "Emma get down and I'll stand on your back to open the door!" Nodding vigorously I get down and grunt as he steps on my spine. As soon as he got off my back, I jumped up and held the door open a crack, just enough for us to slip out.

Quietly shutting the door behind us, we knuckle bump and take off running down the hallway. "Right, left, right. STOP." I squeal and put my arm out to fully stop Charlie.

"Ow, that hurt." He winces and I apologize while looking down at the cast on my arm.

Forgot about that

"What does that sign say?" I point up at the wall right in front of us. The hallway was split into three ways. Right, left or center. The center route was a staircase going down and since neither of us could read the sign we mutually agreed to go down.

Grabbing Charlie's hand in mine, we started making our way down the stairs. By the time we got down all of them, I was out of breath. "My dad's a professional athlete and I'm sucking wind going down a hundred stairs." I exclaim while Charlie nods in agreement.

"I think we need to go this way." He points and we head off albeit at a much slower pace. I barely hear him mumble something about recognizing a pretzel stand before I'm getting yanked along by him taking off down through a tunnel.

We made it!

"DAD!" We both scream as we start running down the stadium steps to top area of the dugout. In the distance I see KB start running over to meet us, along with some other people. My giggles start to fade as I see the upset look on everyone's face and freeze in place as Charlie's mom stalks over to us.

"CHARLIE you are in so much trouble," she shouts before turning on me and says "so are you missy. I know you were the one to think of this plan." She points her finger at me as my eyes fill with tears.

Oh no... Emma Bryant 0 Adults 1

"Emma?" KB whispers as he motions to have me come over to him. Shaking my head I backup a step before stumbling and landing on my butt. I instantly burst into tears and hide my face in my hands.

"I'm sorry daddy. I'm so sorry." I continue to repeat over and over again until I can't formulate any coherent words. I begin to squirm as hands pick me up and I don't stop until I hear KB whispering in my ear. Wrapping my arms around his neck, I put my face into his shoulder and continue to cry.

"It's okay just calm down." He whispers while gently bouncing me up and down. "Shhhh Emma it's okay. I still love you and I always will, I'm not mad but you need to calm down."

Inhaling I lean back from his shoulder and look at his face. Giving me a small smile he moves one hand up to my face and pushes my hair back. "There's my daughter. I was afraid I wouldn't get to see your face ever again since it was just stuck in my shoulder." He says causing me to let out a small giggle.

"Why aren't you mad at me papa?" I whisper staring into his blue eyes. I hear him sigh before kissing my cheek.

"I am but more disappointed and scared than anything." He confesses as he places me on his hip and walks a short distance away and lays on the ground. I slowly crawl onto his stomach and lay on my back so we both are looking up at the sky.

"Emma, I just want you to know that sometimes in the heat of the moment people say some really bad things. Just like Mrs. Freeman did today. I hope you understand she was scared about where you and Charlie had just run off to and then when you guys showed up, her emotions came out a little..." he trailed off trying to think of the right word.

"Hell-fire angry?" A voice supplies right next to us and we both jump. Turning my head I see Uncle Riz settling down next to us and sending a small smile our way.

"No swearing," Kris states before agreeing, "yeah I guess that fits. I just want you to know that you are in a little bit of trouble for running off." I frown and flip over so I'm sitting cross legged on his stomach and stare down at him.

"I get that papa, and I'm sorry that I convinced Charlie to leave the playroom." He raises his eyebrow at me, "and that I made you worry, and everyone else as well." I murmur.

"Yes you did but it's okay I accept your apology." Uncle Riz mutters before taking a swift elbow the side. "Okay I'm just gonna be quiet."

Giggling at KB rolling his eyes, I sit and stare as he formulates what he wants to say. After a silent moment, he sighs. "Oh Emma, what am I going to do with you my sunflower?" Sitting up really fast he kisses my forehead and then lays back down taking me with him.

I shift in his arms, back to laying on his stomach and staring up at the clouds. I smile as his arms encompass me and I begin pointing out shapes in the clouds.

"That one looks like Uncle Dexter!" I move my finger to point out which cloud I'm looking at.

"No it doesn't? It looks like a garbage truck." Uncle Riz points out and I giggle.

"Exactly." I giggle as my dad and Uncle Riz bust out laughing and continue to point out different cloud shapes. I slowly started falling asleep to the rhythmic movements of KB's chest.
