Making Up With Mom

Zak's point of view

A few days have passed and today is the day my mom is coming over for a chat. The last time I spoke to my mom she sounded happy to talk to me, I just hope she actually is happy and understands that I am in love with Catherine (y/n).

I have to admit I am feeling a little bit nervous, but with my girl by my side I know everything will be OK.

Catherine (y/n): "everything's gonna be OK baby, I promise"

Zak: "I know it will be baby, I just don't want her to say anything horrible to you or about you. If worse came to the worse I'd choose you over anybody"

Catherine (y/n): "it won't come to that point baby, she'll be happy for us"

Zak: "I hope so baby, I just don't want to lose you ever again"

Catherine (y/n): "you won't baby. I promise I'm not going anywhere"

I wrapped my arms around Catherine (y/n) and kissed her softly.

Zak: "I love you"

Catherine (y/n): "I love you more"

I smiled at her and was about to kiss her again when there was a knock on the door.

Zak: "she's here"

Catherine (y/n): "everything is going to be OK baby, I'm right here".

I smiled at Catherine (y/n) again and then I held her hand tight as we went and opened the door.

Nancy: "Hey Zak, hey Catherine (y/n)"

Zak: "hi mom, come on in"

Nancy: "thank you son"

She walked in and and made herself at home

Nancy: "Where's my little grandchildren?"

Catherine (y/n): "they're both having a nap, I'm sure they'll wake up soon"

Nancy: "I hope so, I want to give them both hugs and kisses"

Zak: "you will mom"

As me and mom sat on the couch Catherine (y/n) went into the kitchen and made us all drinks. It feels like my safety net has disappeared but I've got to start this conversation.

As I started talking my mom cut me off and started talking.

Zak: "mom..."

Nancy: "Zak.. I just want to say I am extremely sorry for all the things I have said, I shouldn't have said all of those things and I can see you and Catherine (y/n) have worked things out together and I can see you're both extremely happy together. I hope you can forgive me son"

After she apologised to me I can feel a huge weight being lifted off of me.

Zak: "of course I forgive you mom"

Then my mom started to get emotional and then she gave me a hug she let me go as soon as Catherine (y/n) came in the room. Then she started started talking to Catherine (y/n).

Nancy: "sweetie come here for a second"

Catherine (y/n) slowly walked over and sat on the couch, as my mom was about to talk to her I heard Sophia started to cry.  As I saw Catherine (y/n) about to get up I told her to stay there and I'll sort Sophia out.

Zak: "you just stay there baby, I'll go and see to Sophia"

She smiled at me and then I made my way to Sophia.

Catherine's (y/n) point of view

I watched as Zak left the room to go and see Sophia and I stayed where I was and listened to what Nancy had to say to me. She can see I was a little bit nervous so she held my hand and then started talking to me.

Nancy: "sweetie I know Zak has told you everything I have said about you and I just want to say I'm extremely sorry for all the things I have said. You are nothing like his ex girlfriends and I know you won't become like them either."

Nancy took a little breather before she said more.

Nancy: "it's just Zak has had his heart broken a few times before and I can't bare to see him go through it all again"

Now as I'm a mother myself I can totally understand how Nancy feels about Zak getting hurt. Already I can't deal with the heart ache of the thought of Cody and Sophia having their hearts broken.

I held Nancy's hand and reassure her I'll never break Zak's heart.

Catherine (y/n): "its OK.. I understand you're worried, but I promise I'll never break Zak's heart"

I wasnt expecting what I was about to hear, I certainly got hit hard with the truth

Nancy: "but sweetheart you have broken Zak heart, you've broken is heart when you left him and stayed with Jay"

I felt like I got slapped with a very hard object... I have broken Zak's heart. Slowly but surely I can feel tears building up in my eyes.

Catherine (y/n): "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to break his heart. I never ever wanted to break his heart and I promise with my whole life I'll never break Zak's heart again"

Nancy: "I know you didn't mean to break his heart sweetie and I'm glad you've promised you'll never do it again..... Zak really has chosen the perfect the girl to be with".

Catherine (y/n): "you're sweet but I'm not perfect"

Nancy: "yes you are sweetheart, you know everything about Zak and you know when he's having good days and bad days. Sometimes it even seems you two have such a special connection you both are the same person"

Nancy sure does have a point me and Zak are so alike, maybe that's why deep down I've always known Zak would be perfect for me... Even before we met.

Zak: "that's because we do have a special connection"

Hearing Zak's voice suddenly made me jump, I thought he was still upstairs sorting Sophia.

Zak: "we are practically the same person mom"

Nancy: "I can see that honey... Is this my little granddaughter?"

Catherine (y/n): "it sure is"

Nancy: "wow she's gotten so big, is Cody still sleeping?"

Zak: "yeah, he's slowly waking up"

Zak careful handed Sophia over to his mum and she cuddled her.

Nancy: "I'm so glad you two have worked things out together, I can clearly see you're both very happy together".

Zak: "we sure are happy mom"

Nancy: "I'm glad to see and hear you are, and I just want to say I'm happy to look after Cody and Sophia for you both so you can have time together, or even so you can both go on investigations. I can tell Catherine (y/n) misses going with you all"
