before he could open the door to enter the cabin again i stopped him. "minho." i hollered rather loudly to catch his attention. he turned around and breathed out a silver mist with his hot breath against the cold wind.

with a certain and stern voice i admitted it to that. i admitted that. that...

"i meant it."

-------------------------------------

"minho that wasn't a mistake. i mean i did kind of want you to shut up but... besides that i meant to do that. i didn't know when but i just. don't take it as an apology for not liking you back, although i'm sorry about that too. take it as a sign that i care about you and nothing negative you said back there is true in my eyes. don't you ever think i would stop showing that i care for you because of a girl i'm dating. i was just unaware you felt that way and maybe if i knew earlier i could have done something better for you..."

after minho went on a ramble, it was my turn to. and there it was. we just stood outside the door only to be illuminated by a lantern light bulb right outside . he was starting to shiver so i walked closer to put my arm around him and guide him inside as he tucked his face into his scarf. "come on.. lets get some rest. we have stuff to get to tomorrow."

minho was too cold to speak, he just sat all scrunched up at the table and sipped a tiny yoo-hoo box. i was upstairs setting his bed and putting out his clothes. he had only packed short sleeves and his jacket...no way was he getting through this week without freezing if he packed like this.

i noticed the one thing i was wearing was my light pink hoodie from the weekend before. i slid it off so i was left with a baggy white t-shirt and folded it next to his sleeping outfits. "there."

i slowly walked back down the loft ladder with one arm, the other occupied holding a soft blanket. i slowly placed it around minho and sat beside him. "just, don't get sick please?" i giggled.

he struggled to smile back with cold shock, he was just starting to thaw as his fingers were red. "i-ill try." he shivered. eventually after a few moments of shaking he was finally calm again. the blood flow returned to his finger tips and he relaxed his shoulders. taking in a few deep breaths he replied back to my actions. "thank you, ji. and thanks for coming with me this year, it would have been weird without my parents the majority of the time."

"yea of course. whenever you need someone just give me a ring." i reassured him. "when is your mom getting here by the way?"

his mom went back to the house to get the rest of the food and the cats for the holidays. so she'd be a bit to come back. "probably around noon christmas eve. we should have the next two days to ourselves." he smiled finally snapping out of a cold shock. plus, his mom did have to get minho his presents anyways.

"tomorrow we can finish our gift shopping and maybe monday we can bake cookies?" minho suggested, his eyes lighting up at the idea of christmas festivities this week. he was so happy, i could just tell.

"that sounds good. also do you mind getting the decorations out while i call emma real quick?" i asked anxiously. he stood up quickly and nodded in agreement. minho headed upstairs to get changed and i headed back out front to dial emma.

i pressed her contact name and gave her a ring. it answered. "emma?"

"ji ! hey! good to hear from you. how are you?" she asked quickly. i could tell the christmas spirit had gotten to her too.

"i have something to tell you for sure." i exhaled before explaining a bit. "let's just say minho and i had a little moment and i-"

"DID YOU KISS HIM!?" she eagerly yelled. her phone made a bang on the other side of the screen until you heard an exhale.

"uh- no..." i saïd sarcastically. but i made it so obvious i lied. "JISUNG I TOLD YOU. LITERALLY FAKE BREAK UP WITH ME AND DATE THAT SON OF A BITCH PLEASE."

damn . she was kinda excited, bet you couldn't tell. "emma i wish i could. but i can't let your brother down. or you, or anyone." i sighed.

emma took a moment to calm down. "i forgot about that part. maybe chris can just learn to grow up a bit and maybe let me chose who i wanna date and leave you alone."

"he just wants what's best for you. i'm like that with kat... just, not that strict. i just worry." i replied.

"fair point. but i'm in high school now and hes about to move away for college next year so he can't baby me much longer . he should start watching me grow to my own choices before he makes them for me. "

emma had wanted some freedom from this for a while. but the points she brought up could be used against her too. yes, chan was leaving for college and couldn't watch over her soon. which maybe that's why he's paying a ton of attention to her? maybe not?

but emma did deserve a little space. she was 15 now. had her goals planned out. knew what she wanted in life.

" well i'm very happy for you, ji. let's hope we sort this all out soon alright? go get your boyfriend ~"

"yes, my girlfriend. i will indeed go get my boyfriend." i replied sarcastically once again. "thanks for informing me."

"bitch but if you don't cuddle him tonight-"

"GOODNIGHT EMMA." i could hear her little gremlin giggles before slamming the hang up button.

i walked in to see minho had a fake christmas tree already built and boxes of lights and stocking. he was all warm now that the fireplace ran with flames and music rang through the radio system of old classic christmas carols.

a small boy stood unpacking the lights and stringing them . he stood in a light pink hoodie that smelt of berries and hugs as he would describe.

"thanks, ji~" he smiled warmly.
"i think i'll be warm enough tonight."
