for every kiss i touch to him the lie gets worse. for the nights i sleep in the same bed as the boy the lies get worse. ill have to call emma tomorrow... she had to have figured it out by now. but minho...

minho was going to truly feel pain one day... wasn't he.
————————————————

nevermind the pain. we woke the next morning in peace . minho was holding my waist tight and my arms wrapped around his neck . my heartbeat was loud and minho could probably hear its beats in his sleep. i hope they calmed him.

as daylight peaked through the tiny cabin windows a small ray hit the loft. the curtains were still shut to cover us but some sunshine had peaked through the crack. a little bit hit minhos face for a second causing him to shift.

"good morning, min." i whispered to him. he just groaned tiredly and turned his head further into my neck. i smiled lightly. "min." i whispered again. my fingers fiddled with his hair to try and slowly wake him.  his eyes squeezed tiredly before attempting to open a bit. but they were still pretty shut as they adjusted to the light within our loft.

it was about 6:45 am. december 25. finally it was christmas. i couldn't wait to see what the day had to offer. i mean it must be pretty good if this is how i'm gonna wake up. i couldn't help but slowly rub his back a little to help his bones wake up so he wouldn't be too weak to walk down the ladder.

minho pulled me closer into his hugging grip. he was awake now. i placed a kiss on his head and greeted him. "merry christmas~" i reminded him.

minho sat up out of my arms for a minute to stretch and yawn. when he laid down he was moved up further and rested against my arm. i felt him give me a peck on my cheek. " merry christmas, ji." he replied. he slowly climbed over me and off the bed to stretch fully and open the curtains.

sunlight took a burst through the door but it was alright now that we'd been up for a few minutes.

"my moms in the kitchen. wanna head down?" he asked me. it was about 7:01 am now. we'd start christmas right away.

"yea let's head down." i stood and went up
behind him, giving him a small back hug. it was silent for a moment. just us. "thanks for inviting me again."

"anytime." minho replied happily. "let's head down before we're caught." he laughed silently. we both took turns climbing down the ladder and to the kitchen. minhos mom had some cocoa on the stove and cute little mugs out that every mom has a collection of.

"sleep well boys? i hope it wasn't too cold, jisung." she asked us happily as the drink was scooped into our mugs. "i slept well, ms. lee. thank you!" she gave a happy smile in return.

"you were alright up there minho?" his mother asked her son. "yea i was alright. wasn't as cold as normal last night. wind must have died down." he answered.

"well why don't we get gifts going. i seem more excited than you two; show some cheer!" minhos mother was so joyful. she loved caring for us. i felt like another son to her according to minho.

we moved over to our tiny tree that now had gifts and little stockings below. we started with our stockings, which is what minhos mom had gotten stuff for. minho and i had bought the bigger gifts.

i let minho go first.  he pulled out treats for the cats, new earrings, his favorite candies, and other trinkets.

i reached for my cocoa to take a sip which took my gaze off the scene for a second. "oh! that's the one you like right?" i heard minhos mom ask. i peaked up to see minho pull out a three pack of vanilla chapstick and nearly spit the shit out of my hot chocolate as he gave me the widest stare.

"yes, mom. it's the right one. thank you~" he replied.

"you alright, jisung? does it taste bad..?" minhos mother grew worried almost. "no no! it's just hot still. all my fault. it tastes great."

holy shit i was not expecting that. minho got the same reaction i did when he opened the gift just less expressive.

"jisung i got you some too just for fun. should be on top." i pulled out a cute little christmas candy flavor pack of chapstick that children would collect as kids to bite off and eat. but i thought it was cute of her to do. "thank you." i smiled over.

"you boys can exchange your gifts now. i'm gonna clean up my cocoa mess and feed the cats." minhos mom headed off to the room and minho and i said thank you once again. once she was gone though minho looked sharply at me. "fuck. you. my mom doesn't know we kiss! she doesn't even know i'm bi!" he whispered yelled at me.

"i'm sorry. i'm sorry. at least the excuse was valid." i got a bit guilty. minho felt bad but i understood where he came from. "here. you go first." he handed me a gift to begin.

it was a wrapped box you could easily tell was clothes. i opened to fine a nice white sweatshirt with a little gold word stitched into the front. it said "angel". but the smell. it didn't smell like cardboard or new clothes. but like last night almost. and this morning.

"it was mine. but since i stole this from you i figured i'd give you that in return." i smiled and put it on over my white shirt. it smelt like happiness and sunshine. like memories and love.

"this is the other thing i got you." but this one was a tiny box. it opened right away to reveal what was inside.

"one for each of us." it was two silver rings. each with half a heart. one had a black heart carved into it and the other rose gold. the inside of each said "forever."

"i would call it a promise ring but i'm not asking you to marry me so consider it our friendship symbol."  minho explained all blushed up and pink. i handed his ring to him and slid mine on. now i felt engaged but unfortunately i was 16.

"open yours minho. i'm excited!" i begged. he also had two gifts from me. one was identical but it wasn't the same gift. and the box was a bit longer.

he opened to see a small ring on a thin rope. a necklace in other words. "read the words." i suggested to him. i was his cats names all engraved on the ring. "for when you can't take them everywhere."

dori was already asleep in the tree which showed how much of a crazy cat lady minho was. "it's adorable. " he stated putting it around his neck right away.

"the last one is a bit heavy.. sorry about that." i giggled. it was wrapped well but did take a bit to move . it wasn't big or anything. just weighed a lot.

minho opened it and hauled it out of the box a minute or two later. "why does this blanket weigh more than me, ji."

"it's weighted. you know. for many reasons. calms anxiety, helps you stay still when you sleep, built in hug-"

"are you replacing yourself with a blanket!?" minho whispered to cut me off.

"no i just! i thought you'd like it for you know, when we get back home and go to our own houses again. or if you're ever worried or stressed and can't sleep." i explained.

"good." minho seemed almost upset at the idea that i was replacing myself with a blanket. he must have thought that was my way out of this but it wasn't. i hadn't even though of that.

"let's take everything up to the loft and hang out til breakfast is done. she's gonna go all out so we'll have some time to get all dressed." minho explained. "alright." i replied.

i helped minho haul his 20 pound blanket up the ladder and then handed him the rest of the gifts from below. this morning had started out so well. i could tell today would be good and hopefully i didn't jinx it.

it would be a holiday to remember.
