Night had descended upon the French Quarter, blanketing the city of New Orleans in its fine velvety cloak. Though this night was anything but comforting. Only mere hours ago, the streets of the French Quarter had been drenched in blood as it rained from the sky. Water fountains turned a deep, sickening red effectively warning those that lived there that danger would soon be upon them.

The Mikaelson twins were currently stored away in their separate rooms, anticipating the storm that was bound to hit. Kaiden was stood in the balcony in his room, overlooking the quiet streets of the French Quarter with a clenched jaw as the wind rustled the white net curtains behind him. The younger twin currently felt a worrying cocktail of emotions; anger, nervousness, guilt, worry.

His father would soon be back in the city after refusing to speak to either of his children for five years. Unlike his sister, who was eagerly yet nervously anticipating his return, Kaiden didn't want his dad back. As far as he was concerned, Klaus Mikaelson only caused destruction and pain. Hence why his mother had been a complete shell of herself for the past four years.

Hope was in her own room, a troubled look on her face as she laid on her bed with her headphones on, playing a soft tune. Whilst she did want her dad back home, she couldn't help but to think back to the last time she and Kaiden had seen or spoken to him. The memory had been scarred in her brain, tormenting her for the five years Klaus had refused to answer any of the twins' calls.

Five Years Ago

Hope and Kaiden had both gathered in Hope's room at the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted, preparing for the spell they were going to preform in order to see their father. Kaiden sprinkled salt on the wooden floor, making a perfect circle as Hope locked her door before removing her anti-magic bracelet.

Kaiden removed his before the two twins stepped inside the circle, sitting on the cushions that they'd placed as a bowl of water sat in the middle of them. The younger twin snapped his fingers causing the candles he and Hope had placed around them earlier to light as Hope picked up a few dead roses, dipping them into the water.

"Demitte moi, demitte moi," Hope chanted as she stirred the roses in the water before dropping them inside the bowl. Both Mikaelson twins then reached out, grabbing each other's hands and closing their eyes as they completed the spell, both of them astral projecting to where their father currently was.
