Elijah, Hope and Kaiden were currently in Elijah's Bentley; the younger of the two twins driving, much to Hope's annoyance. Of the two twins, there was no doubt that Hope was the better driver and Elijah was slowly beginning to regret giving his nephew control of his car. "That would be a stop sign approaching," Elijah spoke evenly as Kaiden drove through a downtown neighbourhood, showing no sign of slowing down, "that's a stop sign."

Kaiden rolled his eyes in response, "okay, okay, don't have a panic attack about it," the young teen sighed as he hit the brakes, stopping just in front of the sign. "It's not like I can kill you, and we're already dying," Kaiden reminded the original as he turned to look at his uncle with a raised eyebrow. Elijah smiled gently, "yes, but it is absolutely necessary to destroy this work of art in the process?" the Mikaelson original retorted, referring to his car.

In spite of himself, Kaiden found himself smiling at his uncle's remark as he put the car into drive once again, continuing through the neighbourhood though he had no idea of where he was supposed to be going. "I know what you're doing, you know," Hope spoke up as she popped her head through the gap between their seats, her gaze locked on her uncle accusingly.

"With food and driving lessons, life's little pleasures, whatever," Hope listed with pursed lips, "we're not suicidal if that's what you're worried about," she assured her uncle, her expression faltering slightly. Kaiden nodded in the driver's seat, his expression sombre as he agreed, "yeah, that's not what I meant when I said that dying might be for the best," the younger twin added, shooting a quick look at his uncle before focusing back on the road.

Elijah frowned as he looked between the two twins, "well, you certainly don't seem to have any interest in your survival," the original remarked causing Kaiden to sigh. "I just don't think we were supposed to exist in the first place," Kaiden shrugged, his expression sad causing Elijah's frown to deepen. "You know, I think about all the crazy things that led to us being born," Hope began with a heavy sigh as she kept her head poked through the gap between their seats.

"Dad lives a thousand years, is somehow magically fated to our mom, and does a weird ritual to become the only vampire who can procreate," Hope started to rant as she recalled the story of how their parents met. "Mom's torn between hating and loving him, and then one night –" she continued causing Elijah's eyes to widen, realising where she was going.

"Okay," Elijah spoke hurriedly trying to speak over his niece and cut her off, "we don't have to-" the original tried but Hope continued her rant. "They were both sad and drunk and had a one-nighter, which was basically just goodbye-banging, if we're being honest," Hope continued causing Elijah's cheeks to flush as Kaiden smirked in amusement. "Honestly!" the original snapped in a flustered manner, not particularly wanting to discuss the actions that lead to his niece and nephew's conception.
