Elijah was stood in front of one of the many paintings displayed in Café Etoile when Thea suddenly approached him. "Do you know the artist?" the brunette inquired, staring up at the painting as Elijah smiled at her softly, surprised that she had turned up. "No. I'm, uh, friends with the cafe owner," the original replied causing Thea to smile, an amused look in her eyes.
"Well, I hope he's a better cook than a curator," the brunette stated teasingly, eyeing the artwork as Elijah chuckled humorously beside her. "I see. You don't like culture," Elijah accused the woman with a teasing tone causing Thea to scoff mockingly. "You live in France and you call this culture?" Thea remarked with a raised eyebrow, causing Elijah's smirk to broaden in amusement.
"Obviously, this is beneath you. Shame on me," Elijah commented with a teasing smile, an amused glint in his eye as he turned back to face Thea. The brunette smiled, shrugging her shoulders as she looked up at the man, "my husband is some what of an artist – for me, all other pieces of art seem to fail in comparison to his," Thea admitted with a fond smile.
Elijah eyed her curiously, seeing the love and adoration that shone brightly in her eyes for her husband causing the brunette to roll her eyes as she noticed his stare. "I mean, come one," Thea remarked, "this – this is derivative," the brunette chuckled, quieting her voice so that others wouldn't hear her and take offence as she turned away from the painting, moving into the middle of the room.
"Yeah, it's a little derivative," Elijah agreed as he followed after her, "you know what I've found though?" he inquired with a teasing smile as a waiter passed by them. "Thank you sir," the original thanked as he picked up two wine glasses from the waiter's tray before turning back towards Thea, offering her one.
"The more you drink, the more exceptional the art becomes," Elijah remarked, causing Thea to chuckle softly as she took the drink from him gratefully, clinking her glass with his before the two took a sip of the wine within them. "Can I ask you a question?" Thea asked after a moment of silence as she smiled up at the man thoughtfully.
Elijah frowned in confusion before nodding his head, "of course," the man replied easily. "You love it here, don't you?" the brunette deduced, noticing the calmness and happiness Elijah now carried with him. "I mean... you're happy?" Thea asked, wanting to make sure that her brother in law was truly okay and at peace within his new life.
