The Mikaelson Compound was still in disarray after the harsh storm that had blown through the Quarter as a result of the spell the twins had performed to take the Hollow's power back from their family. Whilst the streets of the French Quarter were littered with debris and had seen better days, the twins' efforts had not gone unrewarded.

They had successfully managed to removed the Hollow's spirit from their father, uncles and aunt and instead split it between the two of them. Whilst they could both hear the whispers between them whenever they were in close proximity, Hope and Kaiden both did their best to ignore them. After all, the price they had to pay was well worth the reward they had received.

They no longer had to suffer the pain of missing their father. Klaus had moved back into the Compound, becoming the full-time parent Hope and Kaiden had missed out on for seven years of their life. Elijah had also regained his memories, not that either of the two twins cared much. They had taken it upon themselves to distance themselves from their uncle, unable to look at him without remembering the part he played in their mother's death.

And, whilst the hole's left in their hearts as a result of their mom's passing were far from healed, the fact that they had their father with them was slowly helping to ease the pain. They knew, that whilst Thea would've in no way agreed with their methods, she would be happy to know that they were all back together. They only wished that she was there with them. However, what they didn't realise was that she had never left their sides.

She was always around them, watching over them and she couldn't have been prouder of the strength they both had. Not only had they saved New Orleans and every firstborn that called the city home, they had also saved their family. The Mikaelson's were no longer forced to separate to different ends of the earth and could, once again, be the family Thea had always envisioned them being.

"The curse that plagued our family for seven years has taken its toll on all of us. On our city. On our home. On our family," Klaus began as he sat at the head of the large dining table that was filled with various different breakfast foods. "The consequences of us being together were grave, but today..." the hybrid trailed, looking to his side where his children were sat with a large smile resting on his lips.

"Thanks to you, we celebrate a new beginning. One in which we have the freedom to stand by side. And whatever trials may come, we will face them together, as a family," Klaus smiled as he raised his glass, "always and forever," the hybrid vowed. Hope and Kaiden both smiled back at him, raising their own glasses as Freya and Hayley both copied them from across the table.
