Marcel and Elijah were both stood in the latter's study at the Mikaelson Compound, the younger of the two pouring himself and Elijah a drink. "It's been a long time since we shared a drink together," Elijah commented as he walked towards Marcel, taking the glass from the younger vampire's outstretched hand.

"You're gonna need it," Marcel replied, his tone heavy and expression sorrowful causing Elijah to frown. "I take it Davina didn't bring good news," Elijah remarked before taking a large sip of the bourbon in his glass. Marcel sighed, "she and Freya have been holed up with spell books all week, searching for any last ideas to help the twins," the vampire told him, his expression falling into one of defeat.

"They're out of optional," Marcel admitted sorrowfully causing Elijah to scowl. "I don't accept that," the original denied firmly, not willing to accept the fact that his niece and nephew might die. "Look, I love those kids," Marcel stated, his tone increasing as he himself were concerned for Kaiden and Hope's well-beings, "it's because I love them that I am telling you, there is no miracle fix here."

Elijah frowned, his blood running cold as Marcel continued, "now, they might have had a little more time but they're about to experience their first full moon since they triggered their curse." Marcel sighed heavily, his expression sad, "every witch that we've consulted is sure that they wont survive the night," the vampire admitted with a tone of dread and horror. Elijah shook his head in denial, not willing himself to believe what Marcel was telling him.

"We will speak with Freya, she will perform a binding spell," Elijah retorted, "that's a solution," the original stated firmly. "A spell that powerful will only kill them both faster," Marcel replied with a heavy sigh, "this is terminal, Elijah," the younger vampire stated with a tone of dread and sorrow. Elijah's expression fell once again as his heart thumped painfully, not being able to come to terms with the idea that he could lose his niece and nephew.

"Look, we cant keep this a secret from them any longer," Marcel stated, pausing for a moment as Elijah sighed heavily, "they need to have the chance to say goodbye, and we both know who needs to tell them," Marcel remarked. Down the hall, Klaus was sat in Hope's room having just checked up on Kaiden, his enhanced hearing picking up on everything Marcel was saying causing him to clench his fists angrily.

"He wont accept it," Elijah sighed, knowing how distraught his brother was bound to be by the bad news Marcel had brought. "Make him," Marcel replied firmly, "his children are dying, Elijah," the vampire stated sadly. Having heard enough, Klaus stood from his chair before storming out of Hope's room, bumping straight into Elijah as the older original turned around the corner.
