Elijah and Klaus were still out in the woods by the old mill, the latter stood in the salt circle surrounded by lit torches with the white oak stake pressed against his chest. "Niklaus," Elijah warned with a pleading expression as he took a hesitant step towards his brother, "don't. Put it down," the older original pleaded desperately.

"Walk away, Elijah," Klaus responded with a heavy tone, "you shouldn't be here for this," the hybrid stated, attempting to get his brother to leave him. Instead, Elijah took another step forward, "put it down," Elijah ordered firmly, "and lets talk," he offered, looking up at Klaus desperately. "There's nothing left to say!" Klaus argued, his voice raising and becoming more angry the longer he was stalled.

"It's time to end this chapter," Klaus decided firmly, "get rid of this dark magic once and for all," the hybrid stated determinedly, leaving no room for argument as he pressed the white oak more firmly against his chest. Just then, Hope approached them from the abandoned mill after having just transformed back into her human form. Kaiden was still out enjoying his time as a wolf as Hope neared her father and uncle.

"Dad?" Hope questioned with furrowed brows as she walked towards the lit salt circle, "what's going on?" the tribrid questioned as she pulled her jacket tighter around her. At the sound of his daughter's voice, Klaus instantly lowered the stake so that she couldn't see it, "get her out of here," the hybrid ordered as he looked directly at Elijah, not sparing a look at his daughter on account of his own fear and shame.

Elijah shook his head, keeping his eyes locked on his younger brother, "your death is not the answer," the original stated firmly. "Death?" Hope repeated in shock as she looked between her dad and uncle in disbelief, "wh-what are you talking about?" the eldest Mikaelson twin demanded. Klaus sighed heavily, silently cursing his brother's inability to keep his mouth shut as he turned to look at Hope over his shoulder, an apologetic look on his face.

"They put it into you," Hope suddenly realised, her eyes wide as she looked at her dad. "You told us that they put it into something safe and instead, you use mine and Kaiden's first transition to trick us!" Hope accused, a look of betrayal on her face as she looked at her father, hurt and pain swimming in her eyes as she considered the repercussions of what Klaus had just done. Klaus shifted his gaze towards the floor, unable to look at her as a result of the overwhelming guilt he felt.

"So, what happens? You just kill yourself and the magic goes away?" Hope yelled angrily, a fierce look on her face as she shifted her narrowed glare from her father to her uncle, "and you're gonna let him go through with this?" she accused. "I don't need his permission to save yours or your brothers lives!" Klaus retorted; his voice raised as he became even more agitated that he was being told to stop doing one of the only meaningful things he'd ever done in his entire existence.
