•chapter thirty-nine•

kio's pov

i was just sitting in my bed and drinking my 50th drink of the day, until i saw a picture of addi and nick kissing.

i had tons of emotions.

i cried, i was mad, but i was more mad at myself than i was at addi.

i was hella drunk.

i should've stayed in my room, but i didn't

i knew no body would let me leave, because of how drunk i was.

so i went out my window.

it was 11:32pm and i didn't know where i was going, i just wanted to leave

i stumbled to my car and opened the door.

i got in and took another sip of my drink.

i started backing out of the driveway but instead ran over our mailbox.

"shit" i slurred

i kept driving tho.

i managed to get out of the driveway and i started driving out of our neighborhood.

i was serving every which way on the roads, but i couldn't stop it

i eventually got up to a red light, but i didn't stop.

i kept going through the intersection and then i heard tons of horns honking at me

i stopped my car then turned my head towards my window.

i saw a fat ass bus coming straight at me.

all i did was tense up, until it hit me.

then everything went black.

josh's pov

i walked lexie to the door and gave her a hug before she got into her car.

i waved at her as she was driving out of the driveway, then unnoticed the mailbox was knocked over.

then i saw that kio's car was gone.

"shit shit shit shit" i said as i ran back into the house

"what" mads asked from the couch

i ignored her and ran up to kio's room.

i swung the door open and saw beer bottles everywhere and his window open, but no sign of kio

"FUCK" i yelled

i ran back downstairs in complete panic

"josh what the fuck is wrong with you?" bryce asked

"KIO'S GONE" i yelled

"like dead?" mads asked

"HE COULD BE IF WE DONT FIND HIM SOON" i yelled

i didn't wait for them to respond, i ran out of the door and went straight to my car.

the others quickly followed tho and they all got in too.

i drove out of our neighborhood as fast as i could until i reached the intersection.

there was tons of traffic which was weird

a police officer came up to our car while we were stopped and said "sir you're going to have to turn around, there's been a crash"

"do you know who it was?" i asked in panic

"according to the drivers license, it was a young man by the name kio cyr. he was driving under the influence" the police officer responded

"oh my god!" i replied in panic

"that's our friend officer" mads said, because i was to panicked to even talk

"you guys know this fellow?" the officer asked

"yes sir" mads replied

"well he's going to the hospital on 237 so you could meet them there" the officer suggested

"thank you sir" mads replied

the officer walked away and i quickly turned around and drove to the hospital they said he was going too.

•skip to the hospital•

we all ran to the front desk lady and we looked like idiots but we didn't care.

"we need to see kio cyr" i explained, out of breath

"i'm sorry sir, he's not in the condition for visitors right now. you may take a seat tho" she replied

we all just walked to the waiting room and sat down.

non of us had brought our phones since we had left so quickly, so we just put our heads in our hands

then, and idea popped into my head

"we need to call addi" i said, breaking the silence

"are you serious, she hates kio" bryce said

"she has to still love him at least a little bit, they had something special" i said while getting up

i walked to on of those phone things and i dialed addi's number
