The sound of a phone rang through the room, causing the sleeping girl to wake up, but still not bothering to open her eyes.

"Hello?" she groaned, rubbing her eyes, and attempting to pay attention to the caller.

"Park Haneul, where are you?" someone shouted from the call.

"What?' she mumbled, confused.

"You're supposed to be at work. It started an hour ago!"

Haneul opened her eyes wide, and quickly sat up, looking at the time.

"How is it already 10?" she asked no one in particular. "Just make an excuse for me. I'll be there soon."

"You're lucky I'm your best friend," the girl on the other side said. "Now say thank you."

Rolling her eyes playfully, Haneul quickly replied. "Thank you so much Sana-yah"

Her friend laughed, saying goodbye to the girl before hanging up.

"Shit," she mumbled, putting her phone on the table and running to the bathroom.

You see, Haneul worked for one of the biggest companies in Korea. What made it worse was that she was the CEO's assistant. And there was no way her boss would let her down gently.

Brushing out the tangles in her hair, and trying to do somewhat of a presentable hairstyle, she walked out of the bathroom and brought out her clothes that she would wear for the day.

"Decent enough," she mumbled, putting on her blazer, and buttoning on the last buttons on her shirt. She tucked in the shirt into her pants, did minimal makeup, and walked out to her kitchen.

"What the hell? How is it already 10:45?" she asked, confused. She shook her head and brought her focus back to what she had to do.

"I really should have listened when Sana told me to sleep earlier," she mumbled. But she still didn't regret her decision of staying up all night watching K-dramas.

She walked into her kitchen, nearly tripping over her shoes which were scattered around the ground.

"I should probably clean too," she said, making a note to do that later tonight.

Haneul walked to her front door and put on her converse. She grabbed her bag and her jacket and looked in the mirror one last time before leaving her house. Well, her apartment.

She took her car keys and headed out the door. The house became still for a second before she walked back in.

"I  always forget my phone. Love that," she mumbled, quickly going to her room to get her it.

After she made sure she had everything, she sprinted out the door, locked it, and went down the elevator.

When the doors finally opened, she ran down to her car, trying to get there as quickly as she could. Maybe her boss wouldn't get mad, but that was highly unlikely.

Sighing, Haneul got inside and started her car. "Screw me," she mumbled, hoping she'll live for another day.
