"Well, that went well," Jaemin said, a smile on his face.
He was now driving back to his family. But before that, he'd have to make a quick stop. Earlier, when Eun had showed up, he called the police, who took care of the rest.
Let's just say Jaemin was now allowed to adopt Hajoon, and Eun would have nothing over him and his family. And for his father. As long as he let Jaemin take over the buisness, everything would be fine.
He sighed in relief as he stopped at a red light. Looking out the window, Jaemin thought about everything that happened in his life. Who would have thought that a one-night stand, would lead to this mess.
A beautiful mess?
He didn't know how to put it, but it was definitely something unexpected. His phone dinged, meaning he had a new message. Jaemin quickly checked it, and smiled at the contact name.
It was in fact from Haneul. She asked if he would be home soon. Replying with a yes, he turned his phone off, and looked up, seeing the red light go to green.
Jaemin drove again, and finally reached the place he needed to be. He parked his car, and got outside, greeted by the faint breeze.
Making sure to get his mask and hat, he locked his car, and made his way inside. The last thing he wanted was for someone to recognize him. Especially at a place like this.
He opened the door of the building, and was greeted by the salespeople.
"Hello," a woman said.
Jaemin said a quick hello, hoping she didn't recognize his voice. And luckily, she didn't.
"I'm guessing you're looking for a ring?"
Jaemin nodded his head, as his heart beat faster. This was definitely new to him. But he wanted to do it.
And finally, after what felt like hours, he found the perfect one. Jaemin quickly paid for, and it was very expensive, but he didn't care because he knew it was worth it.
Mumbling a quick goodbye, the boy left the building , and made his way back to the car. He started it up, and drove back to her apartment.
Did anyone know what he was doing? Only his mom and himself. And right now, he wanted to keep it that way.
Eventually, he reached Haneul's apartment. He got out as fast as he possibly could, and walked inside, saying a quick hello to the woman behind the counter.
He walked up the stairs instead of the elevator, and made his way down the hallway to her room. Ringing the doorbell, he was greeted his girlfriend. Without any warning, she engulfed him in a hug.
And of course, Jaemin returned the favour.
"Your mom called me," she mumbled into his chest. "I'm really happy."
Jaemin smiled, and kissed her forehead before he heard someone talking.
"Can y'all go somewhere else? You're making me feel lonely. Especially since my girlfriend is back in China."
Renjun.
Jaemin pulled away from the girl, as he made his way to his best friend, and pulled him into a hug.
"I didn't think you'd be back so soon," Jaemin said, surprised.
"I missed you guys too much," Renjun replied, getting an eye roll from Haechan, making the others laugh. Yes, everyone was there.
"Oh, and this is Mark and Sana," Haneul said, making Jaemin engulf the two in a hug. "Thanks for making Haneul happy," he whispered.
Sana gave him a smile. "She deserves to be happy. And I swear, you better treat her right-"
"Sana, it's okay," Haneul interrupted.
And just like that, the evening rolled by. And soon, everyone had left, leaving the room to be used by Haneul, Hajoon and Jaemin.
It was around 9pm, but Jaemin decided to just do it.
Haneul had just put Hajoon to bed, and made her way to the kitchen where Jaemin was waiting. He fidgeted with the box behind his back.
"Are you okay?" Haneul asked, coming closer.
"I'm fine," Jaemin quickly interrupted. "It's just...Can I ask you something?"
"Go ahead," she replied, giving him a smile.
"You love me. Right?"
"Is that a question? Of course I do-"
"So," Jaemin began, getting down on one knee. "You wouldn't mind if I do this?"
This wasn't the most romanitc thing, but as long as it was Haneul and Jaemin, nothing really mattered.
Haneul felt her heart beating as she realized what was happening. "Jaemin-"
"I know we're too young," Jaemin began. "But I really love you. And I would do nothing in the world to leave you either. And this is just a promise ring. A ring to promise that no matter what happens, you'll stay by my side."
Haneul felt tears pricking her eyes, as a smile made it's way onto her lips.
"So....Park Haneul, will you do me the honour of being mine till the end?"
Jaemin held his breath, waiting for her response. And the words which came from her lips made him feel like the luckiest man in the world.
"Yes, of course, I will you dummy."
So like, don't mind me, I'm just gonna go cry 🥺
