~ Chapter 18 ~

Jaemin parked his car in the parking lot of Haneul's apartment building and walked to the lobby entrance. 

There weren't many people around since it was around 9-ish. People were either sleeping or hanging out somewhere in public. No in-between. 

Jaemin used the elevator, waiting until the doors opened, allowing him to exit. He turned the corner, and stood in front of Haneul's door, knocking on it.

At first, Jaemin thought she fell asleep since he didn't get an answer. But after a while, the door opened, revealing a sleepy, yet alive Haneul.

"Hey," Jaemin told her, walking inside. 

Hello." 

They stood in silence until they both spoke at the same time. 

"Where's Hajoon?

"How was the meeting?"

"Sorry," Jaemin told her, giving her a small smile. 

"Nah, it's on me. Hajoon fell asleep." Haneul said, feeling sleep overtake her. 

"Ooh, okay. The meeting was fine I guess."

Jaemin decided not to tell her about the whole 'him being CEO' thing. She was bound to find out anyway.

"So, can you tell me how this whole thing happened?" Haneul asked, leading him to the couch. 

Jaemin sighed. "Has my father said anything about me to you?"

"Well," she began, sitting down. "He said you were 'well-mannered' and that you would never do anything bad. Why?"

"Actually, Ihadaonenightthingandwokeuptoababy."

"Um..sorry, but what?"

Jaemin groaned. "I had a one-night stand thing, and woke up to a baby."

Haneul took a second to process what he said. "What the fuck Jaemin?"

"I know, it's weird, but you need to help me."

"Do you have any idea who the mom could have been? Who was the girl you did 'it' with?"

Jaemin shook his head. "I really don't know. I was drunk. I barely remember anything from yesterday."

"How could you be so stupid? First of all, one-night stands aren't a good idea for anything. So, you shouldn't have done that in the first place," Haneul told him, looking down.

"I know, and I really regret it. I just don't know what I'm gonna do now."

After a couple of seconds of silence, Haneul spoke up.

"Well, right now, we need to figure out who the girl was. The one you slept with last."

"I don't remember anything though," Jaemin said quietly, looking away. 

At this moment, Haneul felt bad for him. She may not know him well, but she could tell that he really was frustrated about this whole thing. 

"Hey," she whispered. "It's okay. We'll figure out something."

Jaemin looked up and gave her a smile. "So you'll stay by my side?"

She smiled back. "I guess I will."

The two let a comfortable silence surround them, and just sat there, thinking of what could possibly happen in the future. 

Jaemin is so cute, I'm- 🥺
