Haneul's heart fluttered as she thought about the events that had happened at the cafe. It had been about 30 minutes since, but she felt it as if it was just minutes before.
Currently, she was making her way back to the office since her lunch had ended. Jaemin had left before, leaving her wonder what would happen when she got back to his apartment.
Haneul walked down the sidewalk quickly, trying not to get stopped by other people. Yes, she had already been stopped a couple of times, people asking how she knew Jaemin.
And some younger girls actually had the audacity to ask Haneul for Jaemin's number, as if him kissing her meant nothing.
But the thing that couldn't leave her mind was what Jaemin had said before he left. It made her feel all warm, and that was definitely something she had never felt before.
Soon, she entered the office. She greeted the receptionist who gave her a sad look before continuing to do work. Haneul's face was filled with confusion but then realized.
There was no way news about the incident spread this fast. Right?
But she was wrong.
Haneul quickly entered the elevator and ran her fingers through her hair. Maybe the CEO hadn't heard about the news yet. She just had to think of the positives of the situation. But that was proving to be way harder than she thought.
"I'm really gonna kill you Na Jaemin," she mumbled, walking out as the elevator opened. She reached the door, taking a deep breath before walking inside the door.
"Okay, I understand, I'll try and solve this."
Haneul looked at her CEO who was currently on the phone. He gave her a glare that sent shivers up her spine. This was definitely not good.
She stood there, looking down until he finished the call. She couldn't really focus and felt like she would faint any minute.
Finally, after what felt like forever, Mr.Na ended the call, and everything became quiet.
"What do you have to say for yourself Park Haneul?"
She stayed quiet, too scared to speak up.
"I asked you a question," he managed to say, his hands becoming fists as he tried to control his anger.
"I'm very sorry, sir. It's a misunderstanding-" but he didn't let her continue.
"What's the misunderstanding Haneul? You kissed my son in the middle of a public place, even though you knew how many people would notice."
She tried to speak again but was still interrupted.
"Everyone already saw it. This can ruin his career, along with mine. How stupid could you be?"
"I'm sure it can all be fixed up if we talk about it," she tried to say.
"What are you saying Haneul? It can't be fixed everyone already saw it. My family is very popular if you hadn't known," he glared at her. "And because of you, the whole deal could be canceled."
Haneul looked up, wondering what he was talking about. What was this deal?
"And how long have you two known each other? Months? How long has this fling gone around?"
"We...nothing.....It's just"
And there she goes. Haneul didn't know what to say, or where to start. Would she have to tell him about Hajoon too?
"Haneul, you've done too much. I kept you away from my son because I didn't want anything going on between you two," Mr.Na mumbled, sitting down in his chair and rubbing his hands together.
"We're just friends sir," she managed to say. But those words didn't feel right in her mouth.
"Friends don't do this Haneul," he mumbled. "I don't think I need you here right now. It's best if I just fire you."
At those words, her heart felt like it was going to stop beating. He couldn't fire her. If he did, she would have absolutely no one.
"No, please don't do this," she tried to plead. "Is it that big of a problem? And does it really affect the 'deal' that you were talking about?"
"Yes, Haneul, it affects the deal a lot. Jaemin was going to get married."
