"Actually," his mother began, staring at his father. "You don't own the buisness."
Jaemin was confused to say the least. Growing up, he always thought his father was in charge since his mother always stayed home with him.
"You wouldn't dare," his father's boomed, knocking him out of his thoughts.
"The buisness is mine," Mrs.Na stated. "It belongs to my family. Having you in charge of it was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I never knew you would use it to your advantage."
Now Jaemin understood what was happening. His mother was the original owner of the buisness. Took him long enough.
"Do you know what that means?" she asked. "It means I can choose who'll be the next CEO. And it'll for sure be Jaemin."
A smile appeared on Jaemin's lips as a frown appeared on his father's. This was probably going to be one of the happiest days in his life. Well, other than meeting Hajoon and Haneul.
"You can't d-do this," his father stuttered.
"Yes, I can," his mother stated. "I'll let you continue to work, but in a few months, Jaemin will take over."
His father stayed quiet. This gave Jaemin some time to think. This was definitely something that would change his life. But was he ready for it? For sure.
But then he remembered about Eun too.
"Hey mom," he said, catching the gaze of both his parents. "What do we do about Eun?"
"Well," his mother began, a smirk on her face. "She abandoned her child to a strager. You. She kinda neglected Hajoon."
Jaemin raised his eyebrows at his mother. She was right. If they wanted to, they could easily file a case against her.
But were they going to do that? He wasn't too sure.
"Call her, and tell her to come here," Mrs.Na told her husband.
"No-"
"Do it."
With a sigh, he took out his phone, and dialed her number. After a few rings, she picked up.
"Hello?" she mumbled, her voice alone making Jaemin sick.
"I need you to come to the office," his father said, sounding proffesional again. "It's about the deal."
With a quick okay, she hung up.
"Now we wait," Jaemin mumbled, sitting down at a nearby chair.
After a whle, a knock was heard at the door. "Come in," his father mumbled, hearing the door open.
"Hello-"
But Eun stopped mid sentence. She was about to turn back, but realized it was too late. And of course, she didn't know Mrs.Na was on Jaemin's side.
"Mrs.Na," she began. "What a surpise."
"Jung Eun," Jaemin's mother sternly said, sending shivers down the girl's spine. "No need to hide the plan. We found out."
The young girl's face turned pale as she looked away.
"What do you have to say for yourself?" Jaemin mumbled, standing up. He leaned against a nearby desk, waiting for her response.
"I-I'm sorry," she stuttered. Jaemin scoffed. He didn't need her apology. He was about to say some stuff to her, but his mother stopped him.
"Jaemin," she softly said, making him stop. "Eun. Is it true?"
"Yes," Eun replied, tears making their way down her cheeks. "It is."
"You know, we could have a case against you," Mrs.Na spoke. "But I think Jaemin has a better offer to say.
Everyone's attention went to Jaemin as he looked at Eun. Taking a deep breath, he spoke. "Look, I'm just going to have to say it. We're going to have to file some restrictions on you. And also, Get. Out.Of. My. Life."
"I'll do that. I promise on my life-"
"And let me adopt Hajoon."
omg, there might just be 2-ish more chapters left 🥺
