Haneul grabbed her stuff and headed out the door. And for the first time, she remembered her phone. She locked her door, and walked down to the lobby, saying bye to the staff before leaving.
She walked down the busy streets of Korea, occasionally looking at her phone for directions to the specific cafe.
"Sorry," she mumbled to people as she made her way through the road. Finally, after what felt like forever, Haneul reached the cafe.
"Finally."
She walked across the street, making sure no car was coming. Opening the door of the cafe, she was greeted with the strong smell of coffee and cake lingering in the air.
Haneul smiled to herself as she walked inside, nodding her head at the people standing behind the register.
She walked over to the back, sitting down at a couch. Looking around, she realized that there weren't many people in the cafe.
She settled down and walked to the front, the place where she had to order.
"Hello!" the cashier greeted. "What would you like?"
Haneul smiled at her and ordered a coffee and a cake.
"Okay, it'll be ready in a few," the women said, giving Haneul a smile.
She nodded her head before walking back to her table and sitting down.
Haneul sighed. She had nothing to do. Mark and Sana wouldn't call her until tomorrow, and she didn't want to ruin their time together.
She ran her fingers through her hair, trying to think of anything to do. She had to keep busy on the weekends, and then on the weekdays, she'll have work to keep her busy.
The bell on the door rang, knocking her out of her thoughts. Haneul looked over to the door, and saw a boy, around her age, carrying a baby.
The boy was wearing a sweatshirt and jeans, and he looked way too young to be a dad. Well, if that baby was even his. She can't assume.
"This isn't fair," she mumbled.
Haneul was sure this was the world's cruel joke, telling her that even though she's 21, she'll still be alone. And the more she looked around, she realized she was the only one who was sitting alone.
He looked towards her, making Haneul look away. She didn't want it to seem like she was staring at the boy even though that was what she was doing.
She looked through her bag, pulling out her sketchbook. Drawing was one of the things she loved to do, and it was the only thing she thought she was good at.
Moving to a new page, Haneul took out a pencil and began to draw, forgetting about the boy and the baby.
Until the baby started to cry, annoying everyone in the cafe.
Haneul looked up and saw many people starting at the two, making faces of annoyance. She looked at the boy who was holding the baby and noticed that he looked like he didn't know what to do either.
Contemplating what she should do, Haneul decided to help. For one, the boy looked like he needed some help, secondly, the other customers looked like they were getting annoyed.
Finally, after a couple of seconds, Haneul packed her things up and took her bag with her. She walked over to the boy who was trying to calm the baby.
"Hey."
He looked up, meeting her eyes. Then, he looked away, bringing his focus back on the crying baby.
"Um...do you need some help?"
Again, no answer. "Hello?"
"I don't need your help."
Sorry for taking so long!!
I'll try to update again tonight
I hope everyone is staying healthy <3
