ii. Chapter 28: "Warmer than Jail"

The three-Steve, T'challa and Sam-exit the truck, Steve looks to the reinforced glass and metal box's that are being pushed by forklifts. 'They shouldn't be treated like this' Steve thinks walking towards Sharon, the only familiar face in the group of people.

"What's gonna happen to them?" Steve asks.

The old man smiles at him and answers, "Same thing that ought to happen to you. Psychological evaluation and extradition,"

"This is Everett Ross, Deputy Task Force Commander," Sharon Carter says.

"What about a lawyer?" Steve asks.

"Lawyer," Ross smiles and continues, "That's funny. See their weapons are placed in lockup. We'll write you a receipt,"

As their gear passes them, "I better not look out the window and see anyone flying around in that," Sam mutters,

Steve took one final look at Bucky and Sarah before he followed Ross, Sharon, and three agents through the double doors.

"You'll be provided with an office instead of a cell. Now, do me a favor, stay in it," Everett Ross says, as they make their way across a bridge to a new section of the facility.

T'Challa frowns, his eyes looking forward, "I don't intend on going anywhere," he states.

Natasha joins them, walking alongside Steve she says, "For the record, this is what making things worse looks like,"

"They're alive," He states walking into a room coming face to face with Tony Stark.

"Romania was not Accords-sanctioned. Colonel Rhodes is supervising cleanup. Yes, we have the shooter, as well. They're walking in now; we're gonna find out who he is," Tony says engrossed in a deeply-heated conversation with someone on his phone.

"Try not to break anything while we fix this," Natasha mumbles.

"Consequences? You bet there'll be consequences. Obviously you can quote me on that because I just said it. Anything else? Thank you, sir." Tony Stark puts away his phone, staring at Steve and Sam.

Steve asks, "'Consequences'?" quoting Tony.

"Secretary Ross wants you both prosecuted, Had to give him something," Tony Stark replies.

"I'm not getting that shield back, am I?" Steve asks

Tony paused, turning back around. Natasha came up to Stark's side, saying, "Technically, it's the government's property. Wings, too."

Sam shakes his head,"That's cold," He replies,

"Warmer than jail," Stark calls, both he and Romanoff walk away.

Tony sets the black box on the table beside Steve before opening showing the Two fountain pens, "FDR signed the Lend-lease bill with these in 1941. Provided support to the Allies when they needed it the most,"

"Some would say it brought our country closer to war," Steve glancing at the pens and back up at Tony.
