Sarah's Mindscape

Black Zero

Sarah's eyes to shoot open. She allows her eyes to wander, there was something about this forest that was familiar to her.

"Hello Sarah," Her attention turns to the unfamiliar voice.

She stands facing the figure.

"Or do you prefer RedStar?" He questions, "I quite like that one," A sickly smile plasters on his face.

"How do you know who I am?" Sarah asks.

"I know everything about you," General Zod replies.

"What are you a mind reader?" she spits.

"No, But I have a device that is probing your mind as we speak," Sarah's eyes widen, She swallows the lump in her throat, 'this isn't real, I'm not really in Wakanda,' she realizes.

General Zod steps closer, "I wanted to know how a human was able to get on my ship,"

Outside the mindscape, Sarah lays on her back. She's unconscious while Jax-Ur extracts some of her blood to examine it.

"Strange. Your blood is different than our own. I knew human's and Kryptonian's had some differences, but this is unlike anything I could imagine,"

"I am different than most humans," she says confidently.

"Yes, Such a troubling life you had," He mocks looking off to the side.

Sarah follows his gaze, the empty space, soon replaced by Thanos, "This memory intrigues me the most, This being you call 'Thanos' wanted to wipe out half the universe. Such an interesting goal,"

She looks between Thanos and General Zod.

General Zod squints his eyes questionably, "You keep wondering if he accomplished what he set out to do with the stones? I can only see your memories, not the future,"

She watches Thanos walk up to Vision and tear the stone from his forehead, "I can only imagine that's what happened," General Zod says,

Thanos goes to snap his gauntlet, She watches helplessly as he does so. A flash of light engulfs them. When it clears she sees her friends and family around her,

"Dad," She whispers walking towards him.

Sarah hasn't seen his face in months. As she reaches for his shoulder, Steve looks directly in her eyes, "I'm sorry," Her brows furrow then Her eyes widen. She washes him turn to ash before her eyes, "No, daaaad," She draws out.

Then she looks around, it doesn't take long for the rest of her friends to dematerialize into ashes,  "No!" she falls to her knees in anguish.

"This," He gestures around him, "is what probably happened to your friends, human," He hisses.

He leaves her to relive this fabricated memory over and over.

"The atmospheric composition of this ship is not compatible with humans, The last one learned the hard way," Faora-ul Says the last part under her breath, Clark heard it clearly and frowns his eyebrows, "You will need to wear a breather beyond this point," Faora-Ul continues and places a breather around her throat.

No other words were spoken as Clark and Lois were led off the ship,

"Kal-El, You have no idea how long we've been searching for you,"

"I take it you're Zod?" Clark questions,

"General Zod. Our Commander..." Faora-Ul spits.

"It's alright Faora. We can forgive Kal-El any lapses in decorum. He's a stranger to our ways. This should be cause for celebration, not conflict,"

Clark places an unsteady hand on Lois's shoulder, "I-I feel strange," He stutters, "weak," He manages to cough out before falling to his knees. Blood sputters out of his mouth and he looks at it strangely.

Lois kneels and looks up to General Zod, "What's happening to him?" She questions in concern.

"He's rejecting our ship's atmospherics,"

"Clark," Lois pleads.

General Zod's attention turns to Clark, "You've spent a lifetime adapting to earth's ecology but you never adapted to our," He says with no sympathy

Lois looks down in concern, "Help him," there must be something he can do.

"Whatever is happening to him has to run its course,"

Clark collapses.

"Clark! Help him! Help him!" Lois screams wither out.
