Kim Seokjin.

To the world and absolutely anyone who mattered at all, that was his name. Occasionally he would wonder where it had come from, considering his brother's name had been so incredibly different. Growing up, it had been the one and only question that seemed to constantly work it's way into his mind. But the answer - which had, looking back on it now, constantly changed, a suspicious thing he somehow never managed to pick up on - had never been satisfying.

Of course those things made sense now.

But for once, he wasn't content to simply accept the answer that had been given and do absolutely nothing with that information.

...

"And you can't do this yourself why?"

"Do you really need an answer to that?"

There was one singular person on this entire earth who would simply take whatever he was told and accept it without judgement. He supposed that should have, to anyone with sense, made Namjoon the stand out contender when it came to all of his misplaced affections. That he had kept every single secret Seokjin had ever tried to hold inside but ended up spilling and never once let them slip should have only strengthened that idea, but it had already long since been established that the omega didn't know what was good for him.

Apparently he had gotten that from Yoongi as well. It was an unfortunate fact of his life that he was destined to suffer for all of the same reasons his mother had, allowing history to repeat it's self instead of actively trying to change it.

"Okay, point made. But you know, for someone who post as many pictures as you do, I really thought you'd be better at this."

"Excuse me, but this handsome face needs to be shared with the world."

"Your first six pictures are all of food."

"A bitch be hungry. Are you gonna help or not?"

"Alright alright. Tell me what you know."

"Again, not a whole lot."

"And again, we've established that."

"His name is Jung Hoseok. He was twenty at the time, so that would make him... thirty eight or nine now."

"And he still lives in America?"

"Seriously? How am I supposed to know that?"

"Yeah, that was a pretty stupid question. Moving on."

Telling Namjoon had been a decision he had come to entirely on his own, without actually stopping to consult Yoongi. Perhaps, in that way at least, he was in the wrong. Perhaps it would do nothing more than come back and bite him incredibly hard directly in the ass.

But that was a risk he was currently willing to take. Apparently, somewhere along the way, he'd developed some sense of bravery he hadn't possessed before. Some form of courage that came from knowing exactly what he had to do.

"Do you at least know where he lived last?"

"Up state New York. I was born in the city though, so I would try there first."

"Do you know how many people there are in New York City?"

"And how many of them are really gonna have the name Jung Hoseok?"

"You'd be surprised."

 ...

"This is hopeless." Sitting before them were two laptops, both displaying incredibly similar pages, which had lead them to nothing more than a dead end.

"I know this is gonna sound stupid, but bear with me here. Are there any other last names he might use?"

"I don't know. Yoongi's last name was Min before."

"So that's your real last name?"

"It says Jung on my birth certificate."

"What else does it say on that thing?"

"That my mother's name is Min Yoongi and I have an unnamed alpha father."

"And what does it say your name is?"

"Can you not? Look, try... Jung Seok, apparently he originally suggested that for my name."

"Personally, I'd say you look more like a Haneul, but that's just me."

"Listen, okay, I know I look like a literal angel, but I actually like Seokjin. It's the only thing my parents ever gave me that came from both of them."

"I mean, you got those looks from them."

"True. My mom is a solid eleven."

"Ignoring how weird it is to hear you talk about Yoongi like that -" But even Namjoon had to admit that apparently everyone in that family was just straight up blessed with incredibly good looks. "- I think I found something."

"You did?" It was impossible to keep the excitement and hope out of his voice as he leaned over Namjoon's shoulder to peak at the screen.

"So, I'm pretty sure it's not actually him. But it's been a long time, right?"

"Sixteen years or so now, yeah. Why?"

"I think he actually named his other kid Minseok." When there was no response he turned around, almost expecting Seokjin to no longer be there. Only to find the human equivalent of a blue screen of death currently happening upon his face. "Jinnie? You still in there?" Waving a hand in front of his face, he snapped his fingers a few times. "Hello? Earth to Seokjin."

"Yeah." There was still a definite loading sign practically playing within those dark eyes, but he managed to glance once at Namjoon before nodding. "Yeah I'm fine. What makes you think that's his kid anyway?"

"Okay, ignoring the fact that he looks like your twin, he also tagged someone named Jung Hoseok -" Clicking on the name, it lead him to another instagram and he could feel Seokjin actually hold his breath as the first pictures loaded. "- which lead me to this."

"Holy shit." It came out as nothing more than a whisper as he shifted, coming around to the side in some attempt to get closer, practically pushing Namjoon's hand out of the way to click on the first picture. "Holy fucking shit."

"I didn't even know it was possible for you to look that much like someone yet looking absolutely nothing like them at the exact same time."

"You know, Yoongi told me that too. That I looked like both of them and neither of them at the same time."

"Oh yeah, I definitely see the resemblance. But Jin - and I need you to really think about this for once and not just do the first thing that comes to your mind - what are you gonna do?"

"I have no idea."

"Yeah, I kind of figured that."

"What should I do? I mean, it's not like I can just message him. What would I even say?"

"I don't know. Something like 'hey remember when you used to bang my mom'?"

"I'm just gonna pretend you didn't say that."

"Probably for the best."

"It's kind of strange though... I don't see a mating mark."

"Maybe he had it broken."

"He'd be dead if he had." Silently he recalled what Taehyung had told him about having a bond broken, how the alpha was generally the one to take the brunt of the pain and suffering.

"I mean, I guess it's possible to have had two kids and never actually gotten mated. But you said your par -" If looks could kill, the one Seokjin was currently giving him would have set him ablaze on the spot. "- I'm just gonna stop talking."

"It would probably be better for your health."
