Min Yoongi's only sin had been loving the wrong alpha too much.
Or at least, that was how he chose to look at it. Everything else could be excused away, each action explained by some reason that even he didn't fully believe.
But that love had created the most precious gift, a heart so pure and true that he could barely believe it had been granted to him.
Seokjin was his everything. His sun and his moon and his stars. They rose and they set upon him. Everything had been entirely for him. And despite how he longed for what had been before, for days spent waiting and nights curled up beside his alpha, he wouldn't trade them for this.
He had already made his choice, had already traded the love of his life and the mate his soul had chosen for the child they had created from that bond.
And he would do it a million times if he had to.
...
"There's my baby." Kneeling down, he watched with delight as the tiny little omega ran towards him, backpack bouncing with the force of his movements, before colliding against him, throwing his entire body into the hug. Little arms wrapped around his neck and he moved to stand, lifting his son along with him. "Did you have fun today?"
"Yes! We had snacks and watched cartoons and then we drew pictures!" Seokjin was a little chatter box, but it warmed his heart to see his baby so happy.
"Were you a good boy?"
"The bestest." He nodded as he spoke, pouting a little at the thought that Yoongi would even question it. "You said if I was a good boy all week we could go get ice cream."
"Did I? How strange. I don't remember saying that."
"You did! Pwease Yoonies?" Seokjin still couldn't say his name properly, despite the way he continued to try and teach him. But it had grown on him, along with the fact that he could never ignore that pout.
"Hm, I'm gonna need at least two kisses." The little one squealed in delight, before grabbing his face with both of his hands, pressing kisses to his forehead and nose before laughing with glee, placing an extra one for good measure against his chin. "I guess since you've been so good I really have no choice."
"Yay! You're the bestest Yoonies!"
...
"This is stupid." Seokjin was apparently going through some kind of phase that he wasn't sure even had a proper name. But for an eight year old he was bordering directly between impossible and making him question every single one of his life choices.
"You're the one who wanted to take these lessons, Seokjin."
"Well I changed my mind! I don't want to play piano anymore."
"Yeah? That's too bad since I already paid for your lessons."
"Can't you just get your money back?"
"That's not how this works."
"I don't care. I'm not taking any more of these stupid lessons."
"You are."
"Why?" It was a high pitched whine and he seriously considered buying some ear plugs.
"Because I said so, that's why." Jesus Fuck he was turning into every single parent ever. He couldn't even come up with a good enough reason so he just fell back to the old stand by.
Bashing his head against the wall was looking better and better.
...
"Yoongles?" Somewhere along the way Seokjin had finally learned how to properly pronounce his name. Unfortunately he never seemed to actually do it.
