Nathan's Pov:
"Wake up sleepy head"
Feeling someone gently shake my bare shoulder, I groan and turn my body the opposite way keeping my eyes closed for more sleep. The person doesn't give up though and shakes me a bit more roughly. "Nate get up dude, c'mon" the voice i now recognize as one of my younger brothers interrupts my slumber. Refusing still, I aimlessly use my arm to try and slap his hands off but he moves out of my reach. A few seconds pass before I hear a sigh and then a body jumps on top of me, making my eyes open immediately and let out a grunt of pain.
"What the fuck? Get off me you fatass, I can't breathe!" I shove him off me and he lands on the floor at the side of my bed with a loud thud. From the corner of my eye, I see Oliver's sleeping body stir for a moment before he continues resting peacefully. The culprit for waking me up hisses from the ground and rubs his elbow.
"What was that for?" My brother asks as I rub my eyes to adjust to the light coming in through my windows. I glare at him, "for jumping on me you fatass."
He scoffs, "well next time you should get up the first time i tell you... and I'm not a fatass" he mumbles the last part. Throwing the blanket off me, I stand and hold out a hand for him to get up. Glancing at it warily, he takes it and gets off the floor. Motioning with my head towards his elbow, he removes his hand to let me inspect it. Gently grabbing his arm, I check to make sure he isn't bleeding or gonna get a bruise from the fall he took.
"It'll be fine, just put some ice on it for a bit if it really hurts." I let go and he salutes me. "Yes sir" he says and chuckles afterwards making me laugh quietly so as to not wake Oliver.
"So what is so important that you had to ruin my beauty sleep huh?" I walk past him and towards my closet to change into a pair of dark blue jeans and a black shirt. The sound of my brother sitting on my bed with a sigh makes me turn and raise a brow at him.
"Well?" I ask. He cringes when he meets my eyes and quickly looks away. "Don't be mad please" he pleads which only makes me cross my arms in front of my chest and eye him suspiciously.
"Spill it. Now."
"I kinda.. sort of.. broke my car last night" he starts cautiously and immediately continues talking when he sees me open my mouth. "B-but it wasn't my fault! It was an accident, I swear. There was an animal on the road that I didn't see until last minute and I panicked. Lost control of the car and swerved right into a tree. I'm so sorry Nathan."
Looking at the slightly scared sixteen year old sitting on my bed, I take a deep breath and calm down. I can't be mad at him cause it really wasn't his fault, I know that. Just sucks that I spent so much time with Oliver and Don fixing it up for him only to be broken a few months later. It was my birthday gift to him and he was so excited when I showed it to him. Ever since we were little kids, we'd always loved cars but I happened to learn more than he did. And being the oldest, our dad only ever allowed me to drive which made my brother sad. It took my dad a bit of convincing for him to let me give him a car as his present. He loved that car so much and I can tell he's upset with himself for ruining it.
"Sean, hey. Look at me" I wait for him to meet my gaze before consoling the guy. "I'm not mad alright?"
"You're not?" I shake my head and he visibly relaxes. A tiny smile takes over his lips and he stands to rush over and hug me tightly. Patting his back, I glance over to check if Oliver is still asleep which he is thankfully. Sean pulls away, "thank god. I thought i'd have to tell dad by myself."
