Donovan's POV:

When lunch finally rolls around, Oliver and I sit at our usual table in the back corner of the cafeteria and wait for the others to show up. Throughout my lessons today I've been nonstop worrying about how Sophie was adjusting back into the school environment. She seemed pretty calm earlier when Oliver asked if she was alright, but that didn't ease my concerns.

"Where the hell are they? Nathan's always here before us" Oliver looks around the large room with a raised brow.

"Maybe he's taking a piss" I shrug and lean back on the chair with my arms crossed. He hums in response with a slight nod but doesn't stop scanning the area for our friend. A minute passes by when we see Nate walking into the room with someone next to him. It's that Lilly girl who was at Sophie's birthday.

"Huh well I'll be damned" Oliver mumbles as we glance at each other, playful smirks on display at the sight before us. The two of them chat as they make their way towards our table and I take notice to the way Nate is looking at her. The kid is completely whipped for the cheerful girl beside him. I'll admit, not to his face of course, but it's good to see him like this.

Lilly's laughter comes to a stop when they get here but she keeps the smile on her face as she waves at me and Oliver. "You guys remember Lilly right? Is it cool if she sits with us?" Nate asks with a hopeful glint in his eyes. I offer the girl a smile and nod towards the seat across from me.

"Go ahead, Sophie should be here soon so you're not surrounded by us idiots." Oliver chuckles next to me as they take a seat and place their lunch on the grey tabletop.

Lilly frowns slightly, "you guys aren't idiots."

"Well Donnie boy and I aren't, but Nate sure is" Oliver comments smugly, causing our lovestruck friend to gasp in shock.

"I'm not an idiot!" Nathan retorts feigning hurt. Lilly glances between all of us as she takes a hesitant sip out of her water bottle. I try to hold in my laughter as the two guys bicker shamelessly, not even caring that we have a guest.

As if a sixth sense had been activated, I could feel Sophie walk into the cafeteria so I look around in search of her gorgeous face. I don't know how, but ever since I met her it's like I can always tell there's a shift in the atmosphere when she enters a room. She's just magnetic, and I never cease to be drawn to her.

Beautiful doe like brown eyes meet mine and I see her visibly relax as a smile crosses her features. When Sophie is close enough I stand up and pull out the chair next to mine for her to sit. "Hi" she breathes out with a slight tint to her rosy cheeks, making my heart beat a little quicker. "Hi princess" I respond and take her bag off her shoulder as she sits. I make sure I push her chair in a bit so she's closer to the table.

"Hi everyone! How was- oh! Lilly what're you doing here?" Sophie gives the girl a side hug. I get back in my spot beside princess and set her bag on my lap so it doesn't get dirty on the floor and watch as she talks happily with her friend. My eyes roam over the details of her face as she speaks, taking in the beauty.

The way her lashes curve up and the small mole she has under her right eye only enhances the vibrant brown in her irises. I love the way Sophie blushes so easily when she receives compliments and how she always fails to hide the pink color by letting strands of long wavy hair cover her face. I mostly love the way her lips move when she talks or smiles. The shape of them, in all of it's forms, have been permanently engrained in my mind from the moment I first kissed her.

Pulling out my phone from my back pocket when I feel it vibrate, I see a text from Marie asking if I can stop by the store after school to pick up some things. I send her a response and check the time to see that we've only got about thirteen minutes left of lunch and Sophie still hasn't eaten yet.
