It's currently a cloudy Tuesday morning at school and I'm miserable.

Yesterday after Nathan left my house for his date, I felt some discomfort in my abdomen and realized it was that time of the month. Making myself a cup of tea before heading upstairs, I left the unfinished boxes as they were in the living room for Jesse to deal with. Once in the warmth of my bed and changing into pajamas, I took my time drinking the soothing liquid and then fell asleep right away when the cup became empty.

Waking up to my alarm earlier was a pain in the bum because my cramps decided to come on full force. Not bothering to see how long I was taking to get ready, I eventually got to see a anxious Jesse barge into my room telling me that I was gonna be late. Thankfully though, he noticed the choice of clothing i made and half sad/annoyed expression I always have on when it's my period.

"I'll be downstairs when you're ready" my brother had told me as he retreated.

No later than ten minutes afterwards were we out the front door and in the car on the way to drop me off. He was right about me being late. By the time I made it to my first class, it was passed the acceptable limit so my teacher made me walk back to the office to get a tardy slip. All that walking did not help my cramps what so ever.

I had managed to get through the first half of school quite easily, besides the constant bathroom breaks and whispers about me from the students. I'd almost forgotten that they were judging me yesterday; guess that's not going away anytime soon. Now I just need to last five minutes until my math class ends. As Mr.Kline goes on and on about why PEMDAS isn't a good skill to use, my leg bounces underneath my desk impatiently for the bell to ring.

"Psst Sophia" the person sitting behind me taps my shoulder to get my attention. Looking over, I see it's this boy with wild blue dyed hair named Samson who called me.

"Yes?" I question but instead of answering, he just holds out a folded piece of notebook paper for me to take. Grabbing it, I see that it has my name written on one side along with a simple drawing of a star in the corner.

"Who's this from?"

Samson shrugs, "a guy from the varsity baseball team asked me to give it to you. Said it was important and for me not to read it."

"Oh, okay. Thank you Sam" I give him a smile and turn back around in my chair. There's a short pause until i feel his presence lean forward and whisper near my ear.

"I'm sorry about what happened to you... and that people are talking behind your back. Don't let it get in your head though, okay? They're not worth it."

My eyes nearly water at his kind words. I've never been friends with Samson but we've gone to the same schools since kindergarten and I know he's a good person. Just a little misunderstood by the rest of our peers.

I thank him again just as the loud blaring of the school bell rings. Students quickly leave their seats and pack up, anxious to go eat lunch and hang out with their friends. Suddenly not feeling in a rush like I was before, I stay seated and open up the note eager to see who had written it.

Sophie,
This going to sound completely random and might not be a good time for you but, I wanted to take a shot anyway since I won't be around soon. You and I never got to have that hang out we'd planned and I thought that if you still wanted to, we could try again. Find me at lunch today and let me know what you think.

- X, Izzy

I feel myself frown after reading the note a second time. Won't be around? What does he mean by that? The sound of Mr.Kline's cell phone ringing interrupts my thoughts as I remember the classroom is empty. Folding the paper, I shove it into my backpack and gather my things before leaving the room. I make sure to say goodbye to the teacher on my way out of course.
