"We did it!" Kevin said as he turned off the computer. He sighed softly.
"And it is still early enough to get some ribs" Avi said happily and grabbed his jacket.
Scott took his stuff as well and left the room, followed by a happy Kevin and Avi, who had an unreadable expression on his face and stopped in the doorway.
"You okay?" Scott asked carefully.
Avi nodded after a moment. "Yeah" he said. "I'm good." He faltered for a moment and then let go, closed the door and smiled up at Scott. "Let's go."
They walked into the foyer, but there Avi stopped. "I'll need to quickly go to the bathroom, Kevin, can you book us a car?"
"Sure" Kevin said and took out his phone.
Scott waited until the musician had left and only then turned to Kevin. "Is he really okay?"
Kevin smiled at him and nodded. "He is. It's just not easy for him to let go when we end the studio work on a project. This is why we go out tonight. He needs distraction" he explained. "I'm glad that you're joining us. I know that Avi isn't always easy, but he has a pure soul."
Scott smiled slightly. "I know..." he said. "I still think that I don't fully understand him, but some things are a bit clearer than before."
"It takes time to get to know him, Scott. Took me almost the first semester of college to convince him to meet up to jam. But it is worth it in the end, because he is a loyal friend. He is the one who brought me here, without him I would never even dreamed about working as a producer and to earn enough to support my family in the future..." Kevin explained. "Give him time."
Scott nodded. "I will." He had so many other questions, but then Avi came back, smiling brightly at them. "I am ready. When is our car coming?" He said while tying his hair in a loose bun.
"Five minutes" Kevin replied.
"Lovely. Come on we'll wait outside."

Scott didn't know what to expect from Avi's favourite restaurant, but he loved it immediately. It was furnished with a lot of dark wood and green accents. It really fit Avi.
They had a table in the back of the restaurant, a little secluded and quiet. The waiter who had brought them to their table stayed behind. "Do you want to start off with a Bourbon as usual?" He asked.
"Do you drink Bourbon?" Avi asked Scott.
"Errm..." Scott shrugged his shoulders. "Never had one to be honest. I'm more of a wine drinker."
"You should try one" Avi said. "If you want to that is, not planning to get you wasted, unless you want to, of course." The bearded man grinned.
"I'll try one" Scott said, smiling slightly. "Thank you."
"Wonderful. Kevin?"
"Only one to celebrate" Kevin replied.
"Good. Then we'll have three Bourbon, please. And a bottle of water" he ordered.
"Coming right up" the waiter left the three men alone.
"So you're a wine drinker?" Avi asked. "White or red?"
"White. Chardonnay most of the time" he explained. "But only from the rack, nothing special."
Avi shrugged his shoulders. "The only thing that matters is that they taste good. And Chardonnay is always a safe choice. Shall we share a bottle tonight?"
