They arrived in Seattle in the morning. Miles had managed to drive them without taking bigger breaks and was planning to sleep in the hotel room.

The hotel was able to accommodate them early for an extra fee, something especially Scott was happy about. He had had a rough night with his back aching and him being unable to sleep.

"What's wrong, dear?" Avi asked as they were alone in the elevator. "You don't look too good."

"Back is aching," Scott replied. "Stupid scoliosis."

Avi pouted. "Oh no," he said. "I didn't know it could get that bad? Usually, you're pretty chill about it?"

Scott smiled and shook his head. "It's fine," he said. "Well usually it isn't that bad, but still, I feel like I made a wrong move last night. Scoliosis doesn't like wrong moves. But I will survive" He suppressed a yawn and shook his head. "Sorry, not my day today."

Avi shook his head. "Tell you what. We'll get comfortable now for the few hours we'll have. Maybe take a shower? Or a nap? Or if you want to I'll massage your back thoroughly?"

Scott smiled at his boyfriend. "Massage?"

"Mmhm, I'm not a professional, but Mia and I once did a course, a couples massage thing and I always enjoyed doing it. Very calming, not only for her, but also for me" Avi explained.

"Oh, I'd love a massage" Scott replied and smiled at his boyfriend. "Please?"

Avi chuckled. "No need to ask." They went into their hotel room.

"Want me to shower first?" Scott asked. "I feel ripe..."

Avi shrugged his shoulders. "I showered after the show last night, so if you don't mind I'll shower later. But I'll set the room, gather the stuff we need..."

Scott nodded. "Alright."

Half an hour later, Scott found himself on his front in the middle of a thorough massage. Avi had shut out the light of day, turned on some relaxing music and got out some well smelling oil he was using on his boyfriend's back.

"Feeling good?" Avi wanted to know.

Scott nodded. "Yeah... mind if I nap? This is so relaxing" he merely mumbled.

Avi chuckled. "No. I might lay down, too, once I'm finished with your back. I'll set an alarm so we'll be ready to go to the venue in time" he explained. "You sleep."

"Mmhm, okay" Scott said, already drifting off.

Once they were sitting in their dressing room with a cup of tea, Scott was already feeling way better. His back was still aching a little, but thanks to Avi's massage it wasn't as bad anymore.

"When is Mia arriving?" Scott asked. "We need to be at the soundcheck in 10..."

"She's on her way, but she has an all access pass, so she'll be able to get in. And she knows the venue, she'll find us. If she arrives during soundcheck, will you be okay with taking care of her?"

"I don't mind at all, Avi. I am really looking forward to meeting her" Scott said softly.

Avi smiled. "Good."

They finished their tea and then got ready for soundcheck.

Scott did his usual work of checking out the sound while the band was playing through a few songs, when he saw a young woman stepping into the room, looking around and smiling when he saw Avi. Even though Scott had only seen her in a few older pictures and she had changed her hair, he immediately knew that it was Mia. So Scott walked up to her and smiled. "Hi, you must be Mia?"

The woman nodded. "Yes, I am" she said and eyed Scott up and down. "Scott, right?"

Scott nodded. "Yes, that's me."

"Mmhm, Avi was right" Mia said with a big smile on her face.

Scott just furrowed his brows. "Why?"

"When I asked him about you he just said you were tall, blonde and handsome" she said. "And it's all true."

Scott chuckled sheepishly. "Thanks. Ok wow, this is kinda awkward? I mean you're the ex wife of my boyfriend?"

But Mia just shrugged his shoulders. "Does it help that I have a fiancé?" She asked with a big smile on her face.

"Yeah" he said. "Anyway. Wanna watch the soundcheck? Or head backstage?"

"Oh I can certainly watch him make music. I really like seeing him in his element" Mia explained. "And we'll have more than enough time to catch up. Me and Avi and maybe the two of us when he's napping?"

Scott chuckled. "Yeah... although we napped earlier in our hotel room... maybe he'll only do a short one."

"Mmhm, still I would love to learn more about the new man in Avi's life. Like... get to know you. I mean you're totally his type, physically spoken, but he had always been more focused on the inner values of a person."

"I am his type? Never knew he had one..." Scott asked.

Mia chuckled. "He does. Back when we were still living together and he was already out to me, we shared our love for the Hemsworth brothers. I liked Liam, while he liked Chris. It helped that he likes the Marvel movies a lot..." she explained.

"Oh wow, she just compared me to Chris Hemsworth. Damn, I feel honoured..." he said and shook his head. "Thank you..."

"And he's humble" Mia grinned and looked to Avi who had just finished the song.

"Mia" he said through the microphone, smiling happily. "I feel like this is the perfect moment to sing our break-up song, hmm?"

Mia rolled her eyes. "You know that I've got a soft spot for this one."

Scott didn't know what they meant, but when Avi started to play the first chords to Sweet Adeline, he couldn't help but laugh. "Seriously? Your break-up song?"

Mia shrugged her shoulders. "Well, did he ever tell you about our break-up?"

"A little bit" Scott said. "Just about how it all went downhill, but he never mentioned a big fight..."

"There never was one" Mia said. "With time I noticed that it felt like I was living with my best friend. Like we would do things together, but kissing felt wrong, even for me. We sat down and talked and he finally confessed that he didn't have the right feelings for me. And it was kinda okay with me, too, because I loved him only as a friend. We both cried a lot and were very much on edge that night. He decided to sleep in the guest room, because we both felt like we didn't belong in our bed anymore. The day after he drove out into the woods to his cabin. This is where he wrote this song and once we were both ready to talk about our feelings, he showed it to me and I felt that these feelings were something we couldn't have with one another. It was sad, but necessary. Especially for him, because he came out a while later. We were still living together, kind of, because it worked out well for us for the time being." The red haired woman looked up to the stage when she saw how Avi was looking at Scott, she smiled brightly. "I'm just glad that we both found the feeling we were searching for. The love we've been wanting."

Even though it wasn't easy with the music playing, he listened to Mia's story which was basically the same that Avi had told him before. He was in awe at how mature they both were about their break-up. Sure, Avi's story had featured a lot of insecurities about his sexuality and what it would mean, but in the end they both were happy with their lives. "I'm glad... for you, for him and for myself as well..." Scott said, causing Mia to laugh.

"You better be glad. You hit the jackpot with the man up there, Scott."

Scott smiled and nodded. "I know..."
