"Scotty, finally!"
Scott smiled slightly when he heard his best friend's voice from the living room. He had just come home from Texas and was happy that Mitch was home.
"Hi, Mitch." They hugged each other tightly.
"You're late" Mitch said.
Scott nodded. "I know... we had to turn around a few times" he explained and stifled a yawn.
"Are you hungry? Want some coffee or tea?" Mitch asked.
"Hungry, yes" Scott said. "And in dire need of a cup of coffee actually."
Mitch smiled. "I got you covered. Want Indian or Italian?"
"Indian would be nice. Some really good veggie curry with rice" Scott said.
"Uuh, healthy" Mitch remarked.
"Mmhm" Scott said. "Had a lot of comfort food on tour so far. My body needs veggies right now."
"Veggies and rice it is. And a huge mug of coffee. Do you want to go to your room and fresh up?" Mitch asked.
"Shower. I just want to get clean" Scott said and sighed softly. "This was such a stressful day..."
"A shower will help you feel better" Mitch said with a smile on his face. "Go."
Twenty minutes later, Scott came back into the living room wearing a pair of basketball shorts and a shirt. "I already feel so much better, you were right Mitch."
The smaller man chuckled. "And it is only getting better" he said and brought two mugs of coffee over to the sofa. "Here you are. Food will be here in twenty."
"Thank you."
"Now..." Mitch sat down next to his best friend. "How are you? How has the tour been so far?"
Scott smiled at his best friend. "It was really good. Stressful, a little difficult at times, but still, I enjoyed it a lot so far. It's a different life, basically." He shrugged his shoulders.
"Mmhm and Avi?"
"He's fine. After the one big attack he's been better" Scott explained. "I just hope that he'll be fine without me."
"He will be. We talked on the phone this morning. He's missing you, but then again, he's fine" Mitch explained.
"You talked?"
Mitch nodded. "Yeah. He texted me because he forgot my therapist's card and wanted to make an appointment for when he's back home. And yeah, we both had some time and were on the phone for probably an hour or so, just talking. He adores Landon, by the way and cannot wait for his niece to arrive."
Scott smiled. "He's such a good uncle. And a very good boyfriend, too. He usually deems himself being not easy, because of his anxiety and everything, but he is willing to work on it. And I am ready to support him for as long as he needs me. I only want him to be comfortable with who he is" he said and took a sip of his coffee.
Mitch nodded. "I get that. And he is ready to work on himself. Anyway, how about your exams, are you ready?"
Scott nodded. "I am ready. Kaleb studied the same thing and he helped me so much. I've never been so comfortable two nights before an exam. I will revise some more tomorrow so I'll be ready to give my best" he said. "I don't think it's a piece of cake, but I'll manage." He stifled another yawn. "But first: Food and sleep."
After a nice dinner and a movie, he went to bed and decided to text his boyfriend even though he knew that he was most likely still on stage:
"Hey, Avi. Just wanted to let you know that I arrived at my place, had some very good curry and am now in bed, ready to hibernate, learn some more and go to my exam. I hope you had a great show? You'll be on the bus tonight, right, going all the way up to Chicago? Have a safe drive and feel free to call me whenever. I already miss you.
Take care of yourself, my sweet Love Xx"
