“No, Scott, you have to hold on until I attached it to the frame” Avi said.
“Sorry…” Scott replied and picked up the fabric. “I just wanted to attach it on my side…”
Avi chuckled. “I know this, but if we both are pulling and everything, neither of us can, so please just hold it for ten seconds, alright?” He attached the hammock to the frame on his side and then nodded. “Okay, you may.”
After struggling for another minute or two they managed to set up the hammock and stepped back to have a proper view of the result of their hard labor?
“Wanna get in and try it out?” Scott asked and touched Avi’s shoulder. “You definitely deserve some rest” he added after seeing the state his hair was in, all over the place and sticking to the basses forehead.
“Mmhm, it will be very cuddly, though…” he mused.
Scott chuckled softly. “I don’t mind at all…” he said softly. “Do you?”
Avi looked to the hammock and then back to Scott. “I think I don’t…”
Scott noticed that Avi didn’t seem fully confident and took a moment to think about what to say. “Look, Avi. I would really like to cuddle up with you, but if you’re not comfortable with it, we’ll do something else. Think about it. I need to go to the bathroom real quick while you decide, okay?”
Avi nodded. “Yeah.” He looked after Scott and then made his decision: “Scott?” When the blonde stopped in his tracks and turned around, Avi continued. “Can you bring two bottles of water from the fridge? Open glasses are a bit tricky in the hammock…”
Scott smiled brightly and nodded. “Sure.” He went inside and while he was in the bathroom, thought about what had just happened. In a way, it was a little annoying that Avi tended to overthink everything, but knowing what he was going through, mentally speaking, Scott knew that he just needed to be more patient with him and show him how good everything could be. Once he had washed his hands, he got the water from the kitchen and went back outside, smiling brightly when he saw Avi with a big colourful patchwork blanket.
“Hey, Avi” he said softly. “Ready to get comfy?”
Avi nodded. “Yeah, I got some pillows and a blanket in case it gets too cold" he explained.
Scott smiled. "Wonderful idea. I've got the water."
"Good. Get in, I'll join you in a moment. Better go to the bathroom, I hate having to get up once I'm all comfortable" Avi explained and went inside the house.
Scott was glad that the musician had left, because his first attempts to get into the hammock probably looked awful. Finally he managed to get in and shifted until he was comfortable, right in time for Avi to come back.
"Hey…" the bearded man said. "Comfy?"
"Mmhm… would be even more comfortable if i had someone go cuddle with" Scott replied with a soft smile on his face. "Come on, I won't bite unless you want me to."
Avi shook his head in amusement and then gracefully got into the hammock right next to Scott.
It was a tight fit and Avi ended up with his head right on Scott's shoulder. "Do you mind?"
The blonde just shook his head. "Not at all."
Avi smiled back at him. "Good." He looked up into the sky and smiled when he saw the sun which was slowly setting. “It is such a beautiful night” he said softly.
Scott nodded. “That it is. And with a wonderful man in my arms it's even better.” When he looked down to the musician, he saw a soft blush rising just above his beard. It was adorable. He raised his hand and softly stroked his cheek.
