Stones

The cabin where they would film this day was like a beehive when they arrived. The whole crew was already there and in the process of setting their things up.

Avi was immediately taken upstairs into one of the bedrooms where a hair and make-up artist tended to him and Scott went to Mary, who was directing the video. He had already met her during the meetings and knew that she was a sweetheart. 

"Oh, good morning, Scott" she greeted him, hugging him tightly. "So good to have you here today. Where's Avi?"

"Next door getting hair and make-up done" Scott replied. 

"Good, that means we're almost good to go. Do you want a rundown of what's happening today? Even though you're studying something else, you are welcome to work with me and I can show you a few things. Only if you want to..." Mary offered.

Scott nodded. "Definitely. I am very interested in making music videos, too and I like learning new things."

Mary smiled at him. "Wonderful. So, we're in one of the bedrooms, where we'll shoot the beginning scene, up to the first chorus. We'll have Avi lying here, his chest will be covered by this stone and yeah..." 

Scott listened to her and then looked at the stone which was lying next to the bed. "This looks... very realistic" he pointed out.

Mary chuckled. "That's because it is a real stone" she said. "All stones we'll use today are real stones."

"But it's probably heavy and this will go on his chest?" Scott asked again.

Scott heard a deep chuckle behind him and smiled when he saw that Avi was standing there. "Yes, it is heavy and it will go on my chest. Don't worry, I can take it." He greeted Mary with a hug. "Shall we start? We have a lot of work to do today..." 

"I just thought that this one would be made of paper mache or plastic..." Scott said. "You sure that it is okay?" 

Avi chuckled. "Of course it is. Don't worry. I'll call for help if it gets too heavy." He winked at the blonde man and then opened his shirt. "Shall I just lay down?" He asked Mary. 

The red-haired woman nodded. "Sure... we'll need a moment to arrange your hair and everything, then we'll add the stone and shoot, okay?"

"Sure..." Avi laid down in the middle of the bed and waited patiently as the hair and makeup artist arranged his hair on the pillow. 

Once she was done, Avi smiled up at Scott without moving his head too much. "Wanna do the honours?"

Scott had been watching Avi and was a little taken aback when Avi addressed him. "Huh?"

"The stone, Scotty. You already smacked my head with a door, so you can throw a stone onto my chest" Avi said.

Scott blushed slightly and then picked up the stone foundling. It was heavy but not as heavy as he expected. "Okay, putting it down now" he said and then placed it onto Avi's chest.

"Let go, Scott" Avi said. "I can take it."

Scott glared at him and turned to Mary. "Is the placing okay?" He asked.

Mary looked and nodded. "Looks good" she said. "Is everyone ready to roll? I want to do two shots back to back."

Scott slowly let go completely of the stone and looked at Avi sceptically. "Okay?"

Avi took a shallow breath and nodded. "Fine..." he said. "Let's go."

"Alright. Camera... playback... and action" Mary said.
