Kylo Ren and Rey's ships arrived at the identical coordinates they had entered.

They both looked out at the empty space in front of them, somehow hanging in the same place at the same time without seeing each other.

For a moment there was nothing. They looked around feeling slightly unsettled as the lights of their ships went out. Letting go of the controls they floated, suspended in the darkness. Then they flickered back on and an enormous maroon octahedron monolith appeared in front of them.

It had to be close to the size of a small moon, their vessels dwarfed by the scale of it.

The ship jolted as it was drawn closer and they stared in awe as the middle split, revealing an intense beam of white light. It grew brighter and brighter as it spread, engulfing the entire ship. The light was blinding as it continued to blaze around them.

Their minds began to slip away as unconsciousness took hold and everything went black.

He awoke with a start; his arms draped over the ships controls. Spinning his head from side to side, he took in the dark world around him seeing a tall tower to the left and a mountain on his far right.

Eagerly he climbed out and stared over the jagged rocks on the sloping hills, which blended into a rough mountain up ahead. At the highest crest was a three peaked monastery, a single slip of light coming from the middle pinnacle.

Squaring his shoulders, he focused his eyes on the distant structure and discarded his cowl and gloves on the ground. He began walking briskly towards the mountain.

She opened her eyes, rubbing the back of her neck and sitting up.

Descending from her X-Wing she lit her lightsaber and looked around at the blank night's sky above. Below she could see a sparse forest of endless bare trees and shattered boulders.

Sighing heavily she used her saber to light her way and began walking along the unmarked path.
