I rapidly recover, draw the cold gun out of my purse with shaking hands.

"Stay the fuck away from me you sick son of a bitch!" I yell aiming the gun at his chest.

Pretending to be confident with this thing in my hands. But a flow of memories comes back to me. The last time I had to use one of these, the situation ended in a bloodbath.

The alien is casually sitting on my couch as if this was his home. A bag of crackers is visible on the table, so the bastard has been snooping in my cabins.

"Oh, and why would I do that? We just met." Kayn chuckles unbothered by my threat, he doesn't seem to notice the gun, that I'm almost squeezing the life out of. "And I'm not planning on leaving your sweet company anytime soon."

Kayn raises from my couch, after grabbing a cracker that he swiftly throws in his mouth, to then stroll towards me. He tilts his head and looks straight into my eyes with a confused expression on his face.

Do I have something on my face?

"Tears," Kayn concludes while watching me closely I need to break his intimidating stare so I focus on his stylish loafers instead.

With one hand I brush off the stupid tears falling down my cheeks. "Just sip it."

"You humans are pathetic." A chuckle escapes from him and my grip around the gun tightens.

With fury clear in my eyes I meet his. "And you are disgusting," I yell back for no apparent reason.

"On what grounds are you basing that accusation?" his eyebrows lift and I take one more step back. "Is it golden boy?" Kayn continues with a playful smile on his face. "Didn't he want to have a slumber party with you?"

"I'm taking you back," I explain and motion with the gun for him to come closer. "Now or I'll shoot," I declare boldly, uncertain if I mean it.

"Did he hurt your feelings?" The alien continues trying to find my weak spots. I try my best to ignore him, pushing back the feeling that is threatening to come out. I need to have a clear head while being around this creature.

"Oh I know!" he slaps his hands together in a grand gesture. "He rather has a slumber party with someone else. But don't worry I wouldn't mind spending a night with you."

"Enough." I let out more like a plea than a threat that I intended to.

"Aww, you're cute when you're angry." He says between the chewing and waves with his eyebrows in my direction.

"What the fuck is wrong with you? Is this some sort of game to you?"

I know my father. He will not let this go. And if Kayn doesn't go back to my father, someone else, will capture him. He's pure gold for scientists, it's not a secret that he doesn't belong in this world.

"You want me to be their pet?" He asks and takes another step towards me. His hands are clasped behind his back.

The gun is starting to slip from my fingers as he's making me nervous. His whole aura is screaming dominance.

"I know you don't, want that." Kayn continues as I don't reply, only frown in his direction. Shaking my head slightly.

"You don't like what your father's doing, am I right?" Kayn's words are painfully pinching at my heart. I do feel regret, shame, disgust, every single day, for being part of Area 31. But it's not like I can pack my bags and leave.

"Maybe I don't, but either way it's not up to me. You're going back. End of discussion." I avoid looking at his eyes to scan his shiny tattoos instead.
