"I'm not telling you anything." I wince after another kick in the stomach. My whole body is sore. He can't know though. He already knows too much.
"So if I'm calculating this right. I won't get money or information. You're useless to me." Dexter is sitting in his leather chair while two of his men are assaulting me. Trying to drag out all the secrets about Andromeda.
"Give up already," I mutter while dragging myself up the floor with help of my hands on the opposite chair. The men are firmly standing on each side of me, acting as if they didn't just beat the shit out of me.
"I'm a patient man." Dexter smiles while taking a sip from his expensive whiskey. "Take her back to the room. Chain her up."
The men nod, I stand up and let them lead me out.
I'm partly angry with my father for not accepting the bargain. On the other hand, I'm convinced he's got a good reason for it. It hurts to belive he would leave me here otherwise.

"You okay?" Arkin rush towards me and the man at my right side punches him in the face before he reaches me.
Arkin stumbles backward, his hands drawn to the sore spot on his face. "Ouch." He mutters as they lead me to the back of the room. They put the chains on me keeping me in place. I narrow my eyes at them but they don't even bother to look at me. My gaze goes out the window. I'm looking at the dark sky wishing I could get away from here.
"Do you trust him?" I turn my eyes to Arkin. He stands by the door just watching. As if he's hoping someone will burst through and save us.
"Kayn?" He turn to me. The emerald eyes search into mine. I give him a small nod. His lips pout. "Not really," Arkin admits. A relived feeling leaves me. It's not just me then.
"I think he's up to something." I agree. "I feel bad for ever trusting him in the first place."
"Well to be fair, he did bargain you with the truth of your mother's death." I get a sympathetic smile from him. My lips twitch.
"That he did." I agree. "Still, after all this time, I'm not more wiser. I still don't know the truth and he seems to be in the dark as well."
"I think that the secret should be held in the dark. Colliding galaxies doesn't have a nice ring to it. Most likely it'll be war." He makes a short pause. "If we survive it, that would be."
"I think my mother knew that but wouldn't she at least tell my father if all this was true? If she didn't I can only imagine it's for the best."
"Yeah, you see, some secrets are better off hidden, maybe you could cut Carter some slack now?" I let out a sigh.
"He's an alien Arkin."
"Well, so are you to him aren't ya?" His eyebrows go up and down and a chuckle escapes from me.

We sit in the dark.
Myself and Kayn.
I can feel his eyes glued to me, I don't want to look at him though. I need to keep my distance, can't get attached to him when I think he's on to something.
"What's on your mind babycakes?" I shake my head.
"Don't call me that." He lets out a chuckle.
"I know you love it." Kayn snickers and I sigh loudly. Turning my head towards him.
"What did you tell them?" I narrow my eyes at him. He doesn't seem bothered.
