My eyes gradually open as the burning sunshine makes my head feel invaded by a thunderstorm. Abruptly I seal them again with hopes of escaping that blistering light to embrace the darkness. I need to rest, it's just been too many crazy circumstances for me to handle.

"Waky waky sunshine." The scratching voice makes my head hurt more and all I want at this moment is to go into hibernation. I wish to hide from the reality I've brought upon myself.

"Sip it." I murmur with a half-open mouth, unsure if my words are translatable. My hands drag the cloud-like covers closer to my body.

Can't I just stay here forever and forget about the problems?

Problems?

Right the problems.

At a brisk pace, my hands drag away the cover from my body leaving me with a cold breeze.  The memories of us in the car comes rushing back to me.

"So, not a morning person then?" Kayn is sitting at the end of the bed with a grin on his face, as always. I move closer to the wall, creating some distance between us.

The alien is wearing a burgundy suit, the dark hair is put in a nicely done back slick hairstyle,  so if he's all fixed up maybe it didn't end badly?

My eyes observe that we're in a luxurious suite, how did we end up here?

"What's going on?" I say as my eyes are studying his every move. Trying to translate his expressions.

Kayn has proven he's a coldhearted killer and I do not intend to become his next victim, so I stride up from the bed.

"Where are the others?" I demand to know, glaring at his calm face with my furious eyes.

"It was a car crash." Kayn shakes his head and looks down at his fingers resisting to meet my gaze. As if he's afraid of telling me what went down.

Where are they?

"Sacrifices are natural in a rebellious act like this one." Kayn scratches the back of his neck, looks like he's searching for the right words.

My stomach is freezing to ice as my mind keeps repeating 'This isn't real'. They can't be dead. I would feel it. My heart starts to ache and a lump is forming in my throat.

"You can't save the world without those, don't worry though, time heals everything," Kayn reassures me as his sapphire eyes are being filled with devastation.

My hands are finding my knees as I lean down defeated. My heart starts to beat rapidly in my painfully cold chest.

I did this.

My spectacle caused this.

I killed them.

"Nahhh." A brief pause. "I'm just playing!" Kayn starts to crack up in an head-splitting laughter, for a  short second I'm shocked at his behavior. Then I remember his sense of humor.

My body loosen up a tiny bit as I let out a relieved sigh. "Shit. You should've seen your face." Dimples are now appearing on his carefree face which makes my cheeks heat up in anger. "It was priceless. You're too gullible for your own good."

His finger is pointing my way as if I were some sort of clown, entertaining him. The bastard is so full of shit, someone needs to teach him a lesson in how to behave properly. Human manners.
