We're standing outside someone's house. It's huge, the red paint is roughed up though. Carter refuses to tell me anything as he doesn't trust me.
"Stay here." He lets go of me and I think about running for half a second. I decide not too. I wont get away. Carter seems to be some kind of warrior, like Kayn. Maybe they are the same?
How can I trust anyone anymore? All I've heard is lies. The truth always finds a way to sneak up though. Hoping it'll happen sooner rather than later.
My father is being captivated at his own facility. Stacy and Arkin are with Kayn. I try to convince myself he can be trusted, at least util he gets me back. If Carter is right, he'll use them as leverage, getting me back to then turn me into the royal rulers.
The door opens and catches my attention. An old man opens up. "What is this?" He tries to slam the door shut but Carter puts his foot in the way.
"I need your help." The mans eyes widen and his blue eyes flicker at me.
"Is that Kat..." He shuts his mouth and turns to Carter again. "I haven't talked to you in years. I was released from the agreement." The man shakes his hands. His lips are pressed to a thin line.
"The Adamos have returned for her." Carter says.
"I apologize Mr. Bailey. I will not risk my familys life for you." The man shakes his head. A fog of sadness is covering his face. I shrug uncomftrably.
"Don't worry, we can go." I let out.
"If you don't help and they get her. You're risking the lives of humanity. That includes your family, old friend." Carter continues. Ignoring my excistance.
"No one knows you're here?" The man says with a sigh.

Me and Carter is sitting by the couch while the man is in the kitchen making coffee. For some reason he seems to be afraid of Carter. He's probably not as innocent as he claims to be.
I drag my hands back and forth. Trying to get the duck tape off. The old man didn't notice it. Or he didn't care.
"You'll hurt yourself." Carter grunts and gives me a warning look. I shake my head and give away a laugh.
"Let me free then." I stretch out my hands to him.
"Not going to happen." He waves his hand dismissively at me.
"Whats Adamos?" At least I'll try to get som answers out of him. Just sitting here, doing nothing, when so much is going on. It kills me. I need to help them.
"It's the Adamos family. Part of the royal rulers." Carter explains while peeking suspiciously at the man in the kitchen.
"The royal rulers are here?" I gasp.
"Not really. Kenji and Kayn are sons of the Adamos clan." Carter turns his gaze to me. A wrinkle is placed on his forehead.
"There are clans?" I life one of my eyebrows at him.
"Yes, there's many royalties." A pain starts to settle in my stomach.
"So Kenji is Kayns brother? The one who killed my mother?" I'm connecting the dots.
Kenji is the man from the parking lot. The man I stumbled into. The man I thought was threatening me, I wasn't paranoid after all.
"Doesn't he know already? I mean, he was there." I shake my head.
Remembering the video, I hadn't seen the mans face. I was so focused on my mothers last moments alive. Distracted by the fact that I was there, I didn't save her. I can't do the same to my father. I need to get back.
