"Don't think for a second that I'm letting this go, little warrior," I hum to Kayn as soon as we're alone in one of Dexters' expensive cars.
Dex didn't ask and we didn't really feel the need to fill him in on the details of the event at the bar. His boys, as he insists on calling them, came to clean the scene that Kayn made.
"You've seen death before haven't you?" Kayn asks and as usual, he's ignoring me. Unwilling to share. I don't want to use my father's techniques for interrogation but I'm lost right now.
Maybe that's the only way...
"Yes, that I have." I shake my head with hopes of getting the images out if my head. Maybe if I share he'll feel safe and do the same.
An icing breeze goes through my body as the memories of the men Kayn just shot flashes in my mind. The blood. It all feels unreal in a way, happend so fast, all of this has happend all too fast.
How could he do that so easily? Don't they value lives at Andromeda?
"But you haven't taken a life?" Kayn guesses with a smile on his face. He looks so ecstatic all the time, is this world so different from his?
"Nope." I'm getting annoyed as Kayn is grinning like a moron. "Do that surprise you?" Has he never met a non-murderer before?
"A little actually, have you shot anyone?" He continues as I start the vehicle, ignoring the instinct of grabbing my gun and threaten him once more.
"Yes."
"You don't seem upset over just witnessing people dying." I can feel his eyes burning on the side of my face.
"I guess I'm still in shock. So, who's the gracious one and that Aurelia chick?" I try to sound casual. Even though those names sounds silly as hell.
"Oh, babycakes, you should know this already." I get utterly frustrated over his way of dogging my questions. "But the golden boy is to blame for your amnesia."
"Tell me Kayn." I grab the steering wheel hard and my knuckles turn white. "What do you know about Carter?"
"Well, he's not who he claims to be the rest you'll figure out with time." My heart starts to race.
"Are you afraid of death?" I cast my most devilish smile at his way and unknown of my intentions he smiles back.
"Not at all." He confirms and I can see him shake his head.
"Well, in that case." I pause and bite my lip to dramatize the whole thing. "You wouldn't mind dying hmm, let's say, now?" I get a puzzled look from him at the same time my foot is pressing the gas pedal.
We're striding down the highway at a dangerously high speed but I have no cards left. I need him to talk or all of this was for nothing.
The speed mixed with the high sound coming from the engine makes my heartbeat at an unnatural pace.
The adrenaline is filling my body.
"This is fun," Kayn says and I bite my chin hard.
He straightens his shirt as if nothings wrong.
"Oh darling, that smile, it'll fade in just a second." I clarify trying to act cool as we're passing by a large truck that honks violently after me. The tiers let out a blistering noise and I'm a little scared they might burn up.
"I'm calling your bluff." Kayn rolls down the window to let the dark hair fly free. "You don't have the balls to kill us."
He looks so peaceful, he must have a weakness right? Everyone does. His hand is sliding out the window to feel the cold breeze.
