I hit his shoulder and as soon as he falls to the ground I rush for the door. My father is right. I need to get out of here. I have to do this for them. Their deaths should be for nothing. I just need to find Stacy and Arkin, can't risk them getting in a similar situation because of me.

I rush down the empty corridors and there's no sign of anyone. It's like they've all disappeared.

I pass a mirror and can't help but stop as I see the stranger staring back at me.

What happened to me?

My arms are filled with blood because of the scratch marks, all the way from the shoulder down to my wrists. The hands are drowned in my father's blood. My face is swollen, bruised and blood can be found. My eyes are red-shot and huge, the dark hair is a tangled mess.

I look myself up and down once more before leaving that picture behind.

I decide to look for a while longer if I can't find them I need to leave. Before Kayn gets back. I'm sure he won't be thrilled with me shooting his brother.

The voice in my head is reminding me of my father's death over and over as I try to do my best to push it away. I can't break down now, need to stay strong for a little while longer.

A door opens up as I pass the cells and my feet immediately stop. Devan comes out with a worried look on his face which sends chills down my spine.

"Get in here Gianna." He takes a step out and gestures for me to step inside the cell. I hesitate for a few seconds, then I remember my father telling me I could trust him.

"Are Stacy and Arkin here?" I rush past him and into the room. I freeze as I see the two of them kneeling on the floor with guns pressed against the back of their heads.

Two Androlious are standing behind them with stone faces, Telus the one Kenji talked to before is behind Stacy.

She looks at me with wide-open eyes and Arkin keeps looking at her.

"What's going on?" I turn to face Devan. "Are you one of them?" Devan shakes his head slowly and locks the door.

"I'm sorry Gianna. I'm under orders from the rulers." I turn away from him and take a step towards Stacy as I do the man punches his gun against the side of her face. Panic rushes through my body.

"Don't!" I scream and freeze. Arkin tries to get to her but he also gets pushed down. Stacy is sobbing while Telus drags her up to a kneeling position again.

"Okay, easy now," Devan says from behind me. "We don't want any unnecessary conflicts."

I turn to watch him. "Just take me, that's what you want right? Bring me to Androlix, let them go."

"We're waiting for my son then we will go. Kendricks orders. He wasn't happy about Kenji's doings." Devan explains crossing his arms over the chest.

I want to ask him how he could do this, betray us like this, but this isn't surprising anymore. No one can be trusted. No one.

"Carter?" I let out as we enter the SUV after waiting for Devan's son for about an hour. Devan slams the backdoor shut and a guard jumps in to take the seat next to me.

Carter's emerald eyes meet mine through the review mirror. "Gianna." He says formally the backs out the car from the parking lot.

"What's going on?" I look between him and Devan. "What happened to Kayn?" I curse myself for even asking. I shouldn't care.
