I'm sitting on the mattress in the cell once again. This time I feel so drained, my mind is spinning around, trying to find solutions. I can't do anything cause I'm always cuffed.
I'm hoping Carter is on his way, he's my only hope. The only one from the outside who knows what's going on at Area 31.
I can't believe it's come to this, everyone's being captivated by the Androlious. I feel ashamed for trusting Kayn. For digging into my mother's death. For all of this. If I had just stayed out, we would be fine.
Kayn is and was always a bad idea, Stacy said it, my dad did, Carter. Why couldn't I just listen to them?
His parents were renegades, maybe my mother knew them.
"Gianna?" My eyes drift up and I meet Kenjis disgusting ones. He's wearing his casual smile, no worries in the world.
"Let's just get this over with," I mumble and focus my gaze on his blank shoes instead.
"I like the sound of that. You giving up is so pleasing." I try to stay in my numbness state. It'll be easier if I do. Don't want to think of the effects the serum will have on me.
Kenji loosens my chains around my wrists and I spin them around. Feeling a little bit of freedom.
"They'll be back soon don't you worry," Kenji reassures me. He grabs me by the elbow and lifts me up. I try to drag myself out of his grip but my body is weak.
Last night I got a bowl of soup and some water, that's all.
"Where are we going?" I look up at him as he drags me out of the cell.
Kenji walks with his head held high down the corridor while the employees of Area 31 are banging on their doors. Screaming for help.
"Why don't you let them go?" I continue to fish after information even though it's pointless. Kenji doesn't give a crap about anyone.
"Gianna! Gianna!" I hear a familiar voice close to me. "I'm here. Oh my god." I stop in my tracks and manage to break loose from his hands.
I tush to the cell at my right and look through the class. I meet Stacy's watery blue eyes and tears are threatening mine as well.
"Stace, what? Are you okay?" I blurt out banging my hands at the glass trying to break it. My hands fiddle with the door handle but it's locked. "Where's Arkin?"
"Gianna!" She screams as Kenji grabs me by the hair and tosses me backward. My back collides with the cold floor and I lose the ability to breathe for a few seconds.
"Don't touch her you sick son of a bitch. I'll kill you. Idiot. Gianna? Can you hear me?" A smile forms on my lips even at this unconventional circumstance. I've missed her so much.
"Seems like you don't know who I am," Kenji speaks and my eyes flash open. I try to get up on my feet but he casually kicks my stomach so I fall down once more. My hands are drawn to my stomach trying to contain the pain.
I can hear how Kanji starts to fiddle with the keys. "Don't touch her." Stacy continues, without any signs if frightfulness. That gives me a bit of calmness, maybe Kayn kept his word with keeping them safe.
"Brother. What's going on?" I let out a breath of relief as Kayn interrupts Kenji's intentions of walking into Stacy's cell.
"Nothing, you know humans and their dramatic scene creations," Kenji mutters and puts the keys back in his jeans pocket. He grabs me by the hair to lift me up and I let out a scream. My hands try to break the connection.
