"How did they find it, Gianna?" Carter yells at me his face completely blushed. "Who did you tell?" He continues to shout. "Do you have any idea of what you've done?!"

"I'm sorry I didn't..."  Carter slams down a tray of needles on the floor and my body shivers.

"You didn't what? Think?" he rushes to my side and his eyes search mine intensively. "This is exactly the reason you couldn't be trusted because you are too weak-minded!"

"He corned me!"

"Of course, he did what did you expect?" Carter shakes his head avoiding meeting my eyes. "I was clear with you about how important this secret was so many people have been sacrificed for this and you just go and throw it all away like the immature lovesick girl that you are."

"That's not fair." My heart is thrusting in my chest almost beating its way out.

"Life is NOT fair Gianna, you of all people should know that."

A tear slips my eye. "I'm sorry Carter."

"Don't apologize to me." he sighs walking away from me. "Apologize to all the people who will now die." With that, he shuts the door.

"You know Aurelia," I say as we enter the floating car-looking vehicle. We're following Kayn hoping we'll get there in time to stop him.

My eyes try to take in the beauty of this place but the bright light is making my eyes hurt.

"I do." Carter starts to drive us away.

I lean my back against the fluffy seat and allow myself to relax slightly. My eyes are drawn to the sky, you can the contours of other planets, it is so beautiful.

"You love her?" A sting of pain appears in my heart. Been so afraid to bring this up and for some reason, my mind thinks it's a great time now that the universe is at stake.

"She was my best option. The others want you dead, they want the location of that weapon then they want Katia back. I couldn't bring myself to let you die."

The fact that he doesn't answer the question makes me uncomfortable.

"What's on the ground?" I ask and stretch myself up to cast a look.

"The ground isn't a place where we should be," Carter states. It looks foggy, I can't see anything from up here.

"What happened down there?" I continue feeling the need to know more.

"After several wars and galaxy colliding, the ground paid the price."

"Kayn said the rulebreakers were grounders?" He lived there with his family, before the royals cane. Tearing them all apart, ruining them still he wants to be one of them.

"Yes, they need a place to hide. The floating cities are closely monitored. Can't get away with a thing up here." I cast him a side glance and bit my lip before speaking.

"How did you get away with it all? If you worked for my mother I mean, she had an organization here?"

"There are cities who are tired of the north ways, it's morally wrong how they cheat death and treat their people."

I look out the window again trying to make sense of it all. Silas had said the same thing. "So there are people who are working for her organization at some of the cities I assume, covering it all up?"

"Correct. Kendric had been ruling for a hundred years his people are treated like servants. Not for the planet but for the royal family."

"Why haven't you defeated him then? If you're all against him?" Carter chuckles slightly making me feel like a fool.
