My heart is trying to break out from my chest, the sound of the beat makes my head throb.
"Thanks, Gianna, I owe you one." Kayn lets out. His feathery fingers slinger above the skin on my arm. I let myself melt under his touch for a brief moment.
My free hand flies towards the red alarm button and within a second I smash it hard.
A yelling siren sound is beating up my ears.
"Oh, I thought we were friends, Gianna why'd you have to break my heart?" Kayn chuckles, I can hear how he strides to the door.
A wave of relief washes over me.
Before I know it both rooms are invaded by security guards with weapons in their hands.
"Gianna are you okay?" Devan asks, my bodyguard.
He looks at me with worried eyes as if he thinks I'm about to have a meltdown or something.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I shrug my shoulders.
"Gia!" My father darts into the room.
"It wasn't my fault, I don't know what happened." I defend myself.
"Look at the tape," I add since he's watching me in disbelief.
"Roll the tape." My father's order and Devan obey within a second.
Devan finds the frequency rapidly and a wave of relief washes through me as the sound isn't working. If the alien were telling the truth I would have to find that tape.
I can tell where things start to get a little strange. Kayn starts to soothe me it looks as if he's sending me into some sort of trans. My body just becomes more and more relaxed on that chair.
We're watching me stomping into the room where he's being held. This isn't something that never happened, I didn't walk in there. I wouldn't do that.
Kayn is moving his mouth in slow motions but I can't translate what he's saying. My hands go down my back pocket, a key is dragged out. He throws me a smile and I unlock the handcuffs. He stands up and gives me a quick squeeze on the shoulder to then lead me out of the room.
My face is stone-cold like he's controlling me, even though it sounds crazy. But we don't know much about this creature maybe he has the ability of mind control. Ugh I don't know.
After setting him free I walk towards the door. He shuts the lights as he walks behind a free man.
Standing shocked for a while my father's fist slamming the monitor takes me back to reality.
"I didn't do that..." I manage to get out in panicked.
This isn't happening. I wouldn't free him. I know nothing about him or his agenda. That wasn't me. He must have manipulated the tape or he controlled me.
"Videos don't lie." My father yells back and the redness takes place in his face.
I give them my version of the story but my father just shakes his head in disbelief. He's so disappointed in me. And it feels like my heart is being stung by a million bees.
"Look," I start and put my hand down my back pocket to convince them and me that I don't have a key.
My fingers meet something hard, I embrace it...
I've got too many eyes on me at the moment so I just let it go, acting as if I found nothing. Why do I even have the keys?
