I'm staring back at my reflection in the mirror, Titania has transformed me into one of them. Well, I assume that is what she's been doing, still, I have no idea what they look like more than sparkly eyes and suits.
My eyes are still the same green though, not crystal-like, yet. The anxiety is starting to spread. The royals were not born with those eyes, they are given to them with the intent of spying.
"So?" She looks at me with sparks of hope in her eyes. I stare at the girl behind me in the mirror and throw her a fake smile. She shines up like the sun so unaware of what's going on here.
"I love it, the dress..." I look down at the gown that covers my body. It's a beautiful blue color with tiny sparks of glitter. In the middle, there's a glass corset with painted flowers. "It's unusual on my planet at least."
"Ehm duh. We don't follow your lame-ass beauty trends." She laughs while I shake my head.
My eyelids are filled with an ocean blue color and Titania has glued small blue stones underneath them.
My cheeks are contoured, making my cheekbones appear higher than usual.
"That man, Isaiah?" I turn around and look deep into her eyes. "Who was he to Katia?" I'm preparing myself for the worst. These people don't seem to know I'm my person. Even if I were created to bring back their beloved Katia.
Talia smiles widely as if she were in love. Pain starts to take over my chest.
"Isaiah was born down with the rulebreakers." She rolls her eyes. "When the Adamos captured his family they met for the first time. She saved him!"
"Captured?" I take a deep breath trying not to unleash my inner thoughts in front of this clueless girl.
"They were executed, he was spared because he chose the good side." She explains slowly.
"The good side being the royal rulers?" I state.
"Yes, when people don't follow the laws, bad things happen." She grabs my shoulders making me turn around to face her. "The royals want what's best for us, the people."
I stare into her eyes trying to understand her. All I can come up with is that she's been manipulated all her life. Like everyone here.
"Then why do you take a pill that erases your humanity?" I don't want to be the bad guy and tell her the truth. Tell her about her parents if what Kayn told me is even true, but I can't stand to hear everyone defending these rulers anymore.
"Emotion is a wall that interrupts peace." Her voice is soft. She thinks I'm in the wrong. She does believe this is the way to live but how can she know better? This is all she's ever known after all.
Before I have the chance to say something else a knock is heard on the door. We both swiftly turn around and stare as it opens up.
"Yes?" Titania stares at the tall woman at the entrance. Her eyes are dark blue and sparkly and her long hair has the same color.
"Oh my." The woman says and a smug smile is appearing on her perfectly shaped face. It looks like she's sculptured, so perfect I feel uncomfortable.
She makes her way towards me walking very slowly as if she's afraid I might attack her at any moment. Her golden stilettos are making high noises on the floor.
"Remember this is not Katia," Talia says from behind me and I manage to tear my gaze away from that godlike creature.
"Oh sweetie I know." The woman almost sings out humorously. "And I'm great full, can't stand that bitch." Okay, so they call each other bitches here too...
