"Listen to the sound of my voice Gianna." Devan is trying to hypnotize me and I'm trying my hardest to fight him. I don't want this, to forget. My mother is talking as if she would die at any moment now and I hate the thought.
"I can't do this." I let out and set myself up from the sofa. Devan looks at me with bored eyes.
"Trust me dear child this isn't something I would like to do either." He gestures me to lay down again. I give away a sigh.
"When the time is right, you'll get everything back, a lot of things will make sense."
These flashbacks are draining my energy, I don't know for how long they've kept me in here. Silas is still trying to pressure me to spill the destination of the weapon and I'm doing my best to fight him.
So many memories have come back to me, never could I have imagined they'd kept so much from me. Kayn, Devan, Carter, my father, and my mother. They have all meddled in my memories. Made me forget big parts of my life.
Everything is still just blurry, I'm trying to put all the pieces together.
"What is that?" I can see myself move closer to Carter who's standing with a letter in his hands. Rapidly he crumbles it up and hides it behind his back.
"Nothing." He answers trying to play it off cool. I try my best to reach for it but he dodges my attempts.
"Just let me see."
"Well well well what do we have here?" Aurelia shows up in the living room and slowly walks towards us.
"Who are you?" I let out with a slightly shaken voice. My eyes draw to Carter, giving him the chance to explain.
"Just a friend," Carter says and shoots a warning look towards Aurelia. Her face lights up and she draws her fingers through the blue hair.
"Just friends huh? After all the nights we spend together?" My eyes start to water up. "Read the letter protector." She commands.
"I'm doing my part of the deal just leave." Carter looks straight at her, ignoring my existence.
"Are you disobeying a royal ruler's order?" She walks closer and I step aside when she approaches him. Her finger moves swiftly over his chest. Taunting him. "Read it or..." she taps her finger to the cheek thinking. "Kill her." Her eyes move over to me.
"You know I can't do that."
"Choose." She throws at him.
"What's going on?" I say but they both ignore me. Carter pulls out the letter and takes a deep breath before reading it.
"Dear Gianna, I feel ashamed for what I've done to you. It was never my intention to fall for you but I did and that's what made this all so difficult. One day you'll understand, this is what's best for you. For all of us. I just want you to know that I'm sorry. I'm sorry for leaving but I can't put you in any more danger. Trust the renegades and all will play out the way it should."
Carter looks down at the ground while Aurelia starts applauding. "Such a lovely note." She sings out in happiness.
"I'll give you one more year Carter." She walks away from us. "My toy boy is getting intrigued to visit earth, wouldn't want him to find her do we?"
