Annabeth Chase: A theory
Annabeth is known for being a heavily guarded person.
Her life, her family had all been chaos so she "built walls" around her to keep her safe or at least sane from the chaos.
It's that very reason, her guarded nature of sturdy walls to protect, that first brought the desire of becoming an architect; she would be in control of the walls she halted.
She has never doubted this career and it seems like she has a strong connection to it.
