Echo: A theory

-Echo was cursed to repeat the last words of what she hears, ya know, an echo.

She was deeply in love with Narcissus, who had been cursed to only "love" himself.

Echo would have been happy with just saving him, not having him love her, because she understood the pain of forever being captured by a curse. Echo and her words. Narcissus and himself.
