-From Tom's POV-
The next week after Y/n started dating went smooth. The rest of the pupils came back from holiday and classes resumed. Y/n and I had a few days together before the rest of the students came back. We spent the majority of it listening to records, studying together, flying in the quidditch field, and just talking to each other. We did have another 'sleepover', and it was amazing. It felt so relieving to be able to finally express how I feel about her openly.  For the sake of maintaining our secret, we still pretended to be rivals. It was actually quite funny. We would scowl at each other and exchange insults and obscenities with each other in public and then run off in private and joke about it before making out. Today was Wednesday and tomorrow, Y/n and I were going to be practicing Parseltongue after school. There was some type of big event going on in the Great Hall, a talent show and banquet of the sorts that all students were required to go to, but Y/n nor I care for such shenanigans. We agreed we'd sneak off and go practice back in her room (though I plan on practicing a different tongue).

I made my way to my table in the Great Hall. I say down and saw Y/n across the room and we made eye contact. She winked at me and then opened her mouth and pointed her finger, pretending to gag and I just laughed to myself and shook my head. I had pulled out one of the books Y/n gave me and opened to the page I left off at as I notice the annoying presence of a certain platinum-blonde boy near by. I look up briefly to see Draco quickly pacing his way over to the table before sitting down and looking at me. "Are you still messing with Aria??" he's clearly infuriated. I feel my brow scrunch up.

"No I have nothing and want nothing to do with her." I say sternly.

"Then why is she avoiding me??" He asks, expecting me to know the answer.

"Why would I know?" I say flatly. He opens his mouth to speak again but obviously my words made some sense because he doesn't know what else to say.

"I- I don't know.... I've been trying to talk to her and she's just been short and uninterested with me." He says. I put down my book for a minute to give the pitiful loser some advice.

"I'm only going to have this conversation with you once, Malfoy." I wave for him to lean closer so he can hear my lowered tone. "You should be smart enough to know that Aria is jealous of Y/n and everything she does is just an attempted power-move." I tell him confidently before leaning back and beginning to read my book again. He started babbling some more nonsense but I was too engaged in my book to hear what he was saying.

"Tom?? Hello??" Draco snaps his fingers in front of my face, distracting me from my reading and annoying me in the process. I let out an irritated sigh before slamming the book down.

"Malfoy this better be good because if it isn't, I'm going to melt your fingers off." I snap at him. He slowly pulls his hand back before speaking.

"Instead of going to the stupid show tomorrow, do you want to go mix potion ingredients in Slughorn's room?" He asks me.

"I already have plans." He scrunches his eyebrows ar my response.

"What plans?" He asks.

"Private ones." I say flatly.

"Do they involve a female party?" He prods.

"They involve my wand and your melted nubs of fingers if you ask one more time." I say in a fake-cheery tone. He finally gives in and stops questioning.

-From your POV-
I'd had been waiting for awhile for the stupid show to come around so Tom and I could sneak off and be together again. I was sitting impatiently in my dorm waiting for the clock hand to signal 5:00 PM. That's when the show was starting. I sat on the edge of my bed with my chin resting in my palms, and my elbows resting on my knees. Aria was getting her face ready in the mirror, I'm assuming for Draco. She looks over at me in between brush strokes. "Real excited for the show, are you?" She asks me, forcing me to snap out of my gaze.
