-From your POV-

I was folding my clothes and tucking them into my suitcase when I heard footsteps enter my room from behind me. "Have you seen my potion ingredients?" Eva asks me.

"You've already lost stuff?? You got your letter three days ago!" I criticize.

"You try being a first year, it's exciting!" she retorts. I stop my packing and turn around to face her.

"I already have, you idiot." before we can continue, my dad walks in my room with a small crate full of stuff.

"Girls, no need to fight. You left them on kitchen table, Ev." he says as he hands the crate to her.

"Thanks." she tells him as she inspects the contents of the box and leaves. I turn and go back to packing. I expected to hear the sounds of my dad's footsteps leaving my room. But instead, I heard them trail to my right side and then stop. "Not to have an awkward dad moment that makes you cringe, but if you are going to do anything funny with Draco while away at school, be careful about it?" he says.

"Oh my God I might projectile vomit." I say, gaining a chuckle from him.

"I'm sorry. Actually, no I'm not. I would tell you to just not do it, but you both come from a long line of Slytherins so I know you would just do it anyways."

"Wow, I'm glad to see you have so much faith in me." I say back sarcastically and then look over at him to see his eyebrow raised and his arms crossed. I roll my eyes. "Fine, you make a good point."

"I know I do."

"That must be where I get it from." I say back dryly, making him laugh again.

"And one last cringe moment because I know you don't like weird emotional stuff, but watch out for your sister, will you?" he asks me.

"Oh, absolutely not." I say with a smug smile.

"Y/n."

"Dad."

"You don't have to hover, but she doesn't have the street-smart and scrappy chops that you do." he explains. I sigh.

"Fine. But I'm doing it so she doesn't embarrass me and ruin my reputation for my last few years."

"Fine by me. I'll leave you to it." he said, lightly kissing the side of my head before leaving. Draco and I had been dating for the whole summer now. I felt normal, and it was weird. For once, I had a (somewhat) normal boyfriend and we got to do normal things like shoplift, prank random people on the street, and sneak into restricted areas together. Okay- well maybe those weren't 'normal' for most people but it was for us. I never had any regrets about Tom or anything. I felt that I had good closure. Every once in awhile, he crossed my mind, but it was more like 'I wonder how he's doing, I hope he's alright' and not a 'I'm still in love with him' type. And it was true, I did hope he was alright; I harbored no ill will towards him, I just simply did not want to be with him. I hadn't thought about collecting horcruxes all summer and quite honestly, I did not want to continue on with that mission. My newest interest, aside from Draco, was dragons and drexels. I did a LOT of reading up on them over the summer and would practice it all on Viper. I became quite the handler. I drew them, thought about them, read about them, anything related to dragons and drexels- but especially dragons- I was fascinated.

I had put the finishing items in my bag and zipped it shut and slid it on the floor near the door. I yawned as I washed my face and brushed my teeth in the bathroom. I was in pajamas and I was exhausted. All day, we were out at Diagon Alley buying school supplies. We ran into the Weasley's and I promptly flipped both Fred and George off. I wanted nothing more than to crawl into my bed and enjoy it since I knew I wasn't going to have that luxury for months.
