Book 2
-From Tom's POV-
I was sitting on my bunk, reading through another dark magic book when I heard fumbling at my door, and then it suddenly bust open. I saw platinum blonde hair and two idiots following behind and felt myself instantly grow annoyed. "Malfoy what the hell do you want?" I bark at him. His face is extremely pale and he's out of breath, as if he just ran all the way here.
"She's alive! They wrongfully convicted Alex!" he gasps out. My eyebrows instantly go up.
"What are you talking about?!" I ask him, setting my book down and rising to my feet.
"Victoria! We saw her in one of the side corridors! She was alive, and breathing. Not talking, and barely walking. Kinda like....a zombie." he says shakily. I grab his collar into both of my hands and lift him up.
"Malfoy if this is a joke-" I begin.
"I swear! I swear to Merlin it's not!! They saw her too!" he yells as he tilts his head, motioning to the two boys behind him. I glance over his shoulder and they have pale faces and are panting as well. He's telling the truth. I set him back down on the ground, letting go of his collar. I put my hand up to my chin and start thinking. "This means Alex didn't kill her!" he says.
"Yes, Malfoy, I've gathered that." I snap at him. This means the ministry will reopen the investigation and... if she talks....
"Why so mad?! This is good news! It means Alex is innocent." he says cheerfully. I turn to him.
"Alex, killed Aria. Remember?" I remind him. Okay, so at least we have some time on the accord that Aria is still dead. But, if Victoria remembers what she saw and talks, that will all be undone. Draco's face of glee quickly drops at the realization.
"Oh yeah..." he says glumly. I sigh as my muscles tense up.
"Alright well, get out of my room. Please. I have to go tell Y/n, she'll be glad to hear her friend is back. She's already had so much loss this year." I sigh. The three of them just faintly nod and then shuffle out of my room. I slide my robe on and bring my wand as I begin stalking down the corridors, heading to her dorm.
I lightly knocked on the door, but heard no response, so I reached down and carefully twisted the knob and let myself in. She was fast asleep on her bed, wand in hand and still fully dressed in her uniform and robe. I gently closed the door and walked over and sat down on the bed next to her. I just watched her for a quick second; she looked so peaceful. I frowned slightly as I realized that this was probably the last moment of peace she was going to have for quite some time. But nonetheless, she needs to know. She would be mad at me if I just let her sleep and didn't tell her what was coming. I lightly began shaking her arm, causing her to half-consciously push my hand, but when she realized I wasn't stopping she finally opened her eyes and sat up. She just stared at me for a moment, eyes with giant dark rings around them and confused. "Tom?" she said groggily.
"Y/n." I say to her.
"What's wrong?" she asks with a small yawn, pushing herself further up with her hands. I sighed and looked down briefly as I realized what was about to happen to her.
"Y/n, Victoria has been spotted alive." I say firmly. Her groggy and tired eyes expand into shocked and confused ones. I lightly nod my head in understanding.
"What?! By who? Where? How much do they know? Did she say anything?!" she spits out all in one breath. I explain to her what happened, Draco and his idiots coming into my dorm and retelling me that they just saw a very alive Victoria walking around a corridor, but in a zombie-like state. Y/n crosses her legs and props her chin up on one hand, arms supporting each other. She's thinking and thinking before she speaks again. "So, she's incoherent?" she asks.
